Posting Here: secretly or openly?
by AllAlongTheWatchtower injust curious, how many of you have to hide the fact that you post here from family?
i'm especially thinking of those with spouses who are in, while they themselves either never were, faded, dfed/daed, etc but if you are a child hiding it from parents, that applies too.
if you are posting secretly, how secretive do you have to be?

13-yr old girl writes: example of Witnesses lying
by Dogpatch ini get emails like this all the time.
some jw gets upset at the stuff on my site, and wanting to add more weight/shock value to what they say, they either mention in passing that they are "not one of jehovah's witnesses" or are a child.
this one claims to be a 13-yr old girl!

Danny, I'd take emails like that as a compliment (I'm sure you already do). Look at what they call normal...

a 13 yr old girlYeah Randy, I was a happy little dub until I found your website! Seriously, I don't believe that is a real 13 year old. That's bad grammar even to a 13 year old. The person is either very unedumacated or I suspect it may even be delibrate to make the post appear even more authentic.
I have raised 3 13 year old females (several years apart, not triplets), and let me assure you that they would never call themselves "GIRLS", nor would they go around telling their age--they also wanted to be seen as being more mature than they really were!
I'll second that, having been a 13 year old girl at one stage... I would have never called myself a girl nor would I have said I was 13 either. At that age, you don't want to identify yourself with being a child still in any way.

What was your perception of cults?
by brinjen inbefore you realised you were in one...... did you picture pale sickly people in robes who had all their members living in villages?
or was your 'mental picture' a little more "human?".
how does that image compare to now?.

I also used to think people in cults were obscure, strangely robed people running around chanting or drinking poison like Jim Jones group, or in America with David Koresh, just seemed like controlled people.
I had the exact same picture Flipper

Update! Drew Sagan is no longer a Jehovah's Witness
by drew sagan inas promised here is all of the info regarding what has been going on.
per the last jc with the elders i realized that all i had done was buy time.
they felt that we should be df'ed right on the spot, but because i made a plea to wait for a letter coming back from the wts they decided to hold on taking such action.

"If you think you can hold on just so you can talk to mommy and daddy think again"
That line just makes my blood boil... and they wonder why we call them a cult.
I would love to round up the hard@$$ elders and put them in front of a JC. If they imposed the same restrictions upon themselves as they do for others, they would be d'fd. Hell, the GB would be the first to go with their application to the UN.
You know, it might be fun to just call the service desk at the borg headquarters and ask to speak to someone about this. Wonder what they would answer?
Be something like "no comment".

What Is Your View Toward Religions & "Religious" People?
by minimus inmy take on religions in general is that they all either give hope or some type of contentment for the person who takes their religion seriously.
if they're good, they go to heaven or to some better condition.
some religions are more radical than others and these types, i stay away from.. regarding those that are very religious, i'm generalizing here, but i think most of them are extremists in one way or another.

I see religion and spiritual as seperate from each other.
Religous are people who belong to a religion and are all about appearances
Spiritual are people who may (or may not) belong to a religion who are decent, genuine people.
Dubs taught me that....
