I've had one OBE, when my mother was in hospital about a week or so before she died. I was at home, having an afternoon nap when I felt like I was floating. It was weird as I was aware I was sleeping in my bed but at the same time I felt aware of the ceiling directly in front of me.

I could see my mother in her hospital bed with a hoard of doctors and medical staff working on her in a frenzy. I also became aware that I couldn't breath, no matter how much I tried my lungs just felt empty. I started to panic and try to work my way back down from the ceiling, then the floating sensation stopped and I just gulped in mouthfuls of air, I really wasn't able to breath...

Not long after, I was woken up by a phone call from the hospital, my mother had just had a heart attack...

Being a dub still at the time my first thought was demons, now I know different of course. But I still can't explain what happened...

had to do a little historic research to find out that jehovah is actually 2 hebrew words compounded: yah(h) and hovah.

yah(h) means: "i exist," "i am," "i create," or "i will be or bring into being.

hovah means: ruin, mischif, but yet,it's root, havvah,translates as: "calamity, iniquity, mischief, mischievous (thing), naughtiness, naughty, noisome, perverse thing, substance, very wickedness.

Is your non dub partner/spouse curious?

after hearing all about my life and experiences as a jw, my non-jw spouse was curious.

that is how she found this site and how i found it.

the doctrinal crap really pisses her off, especially because of what it does to families.. i did have a family member who was molested many years ago but do not know the details nor the outcome.

I dont know why It was down Wwiz but he was working on indexing the site to make the search function work... dont sweat it. It is a free forum.

It's a big forum for what is essentially a one man operation. Like IP_SEC said, don't sweat it. Big thank you to Simon for all his continous hard work!

I was just thinking the other day how odd it is that no dubs have ever called at my door. I live a few thousand kms from the KH I attended, none of them know I was ever one myself. Maybe the last tennants were DNC's.... In every house I've lived in for the last seven years! (?)
