Sylvia
hello all ex-jw's long time lurker first time posting.
obviously my name is not my real name but i don't want to reveal my real name for fear of shunning obviously.
i have really appreciated much of what this site offers in vast amounts of information that is valuable to me.
Hello back and welcome too, LB. Good to have you here at last!
Sylvia
may you have peace!.
i have started a new thread on the subject you raised, blood, because the other is so long i didn't want the information i am privileged to share with you to be lost.
i wish to tell you that you have been misled and, like those you follow, risk misleading others, to your own detriment and theirs.
I so enjoy reading your posts, AGuest.

I would love to be a fly on the wall for that study.
Now, now, now, Sister Mary. Where's IP-SEC's ROFL emoticon?

Rosalee | Re: WHAT do YOU know about LUCIFER... and His teachings? | |
Post 172 of 172 She's back!!! Sylvia | The question in this topic is :What do YOU know about LUCIFER... and His teachings?" In the KJV of the Bible in Isaiah 14:12 the word "Lucifer" is used. It is in reference to the King of Babylon. It is a mocking question about his lofty position .. in his own mind .. and how he will be abased .. to the 'pit' .. hell or hades. To be sent to 'hades', one has to considered human. It being the resting place of the dead. Spirits do not go to the common grave ... thus ... this reference cannot be to Satan ... a spirit creature. Thus the name Lucifer is not a name for Satan. At one time, it was understood to be but is now recognized not to be. That being said, His teachings are not noteworthy. |
first off, let me apologize in advance if this subject has been discussed before.
i have been reading this board for 6-8 months now and though i try to keep up with the posts (as well as catching up on past ones ) there is just so much info on here that i might have missed it.
anyway, on a previous post i mentioned that there are some really sharp people on this forum; people whose bible knowledge greatly exceeds that of anyone in brooklyn.
bump.
has anyone dared to push the love button hard??
i'm too chicken to try it .
nj.
I didn't press the love button, but I DID finally click on the DO NOT CLICK UNLESS YOU'RE 18 thingy. It was nothing but a bunch of ... well nothing.

i have heard this as a title for a talk at a grand boasting session, as well as the theme in the puketower.
the tower renders this as meaning balancing theocraptic activities.
they always seem to mention balancing street work, door to door, not at homes, calls, and studies.
Learn to use a computer, even if it is going to cost you money and mistakes.
LOL!!! That is exactly what I did. My nine-year old granddaughter helps me out so much. Sometimes I think I'm a hopeless old fool.

well i got home from nashville early this morning.. .
i had a good time on the trip.. .
tuesday morning when i left it started raining, and it rained all the way to cookeville tennessee, then it stopped and the sun came out.. .
That's good to hear, Junction Guy. Nothing much on JWD except Nvr has thrown the gauntlet down against all Christians.
I'm glad you're back to help keep him at bay!

this is for the christians.. let's put our swords away.. try to convince those of us that have lost our faith to accept jesus christ and all that that acceptance entails.. pretend that our lives( eternal) depend on it.. that's what you believe isn't it?.
this is an opportunity to win souls for christ.. yes.
things may get heated.
I've heard some allude to personal experiences that have deeply affected them and strengthened their faith.

Nvr, I learned to read at an early age and our worn KJV Bible was a favorite. I read the Gospel accounts of Jesus and grew to love Him. NOBODY won me over for Jesus; it was Jesus Himself who did it.
I grew disillusioned with the Baptist church over the hellfire teaching and turned to the JW's. I accepted their flawed version of the Person of Jesus because they convinced me they had all the right answers. I subsequently found out that the entire JW belief system is based on various man-made end-times speculations. What was I to do?
The first thing I decided to do was search out that Friend of my youth in order to get better acquainted with Him. How was I to do that? Why, go to Him in prayer and let Him know of my desire to walk with Him again. I did just that.
I was inspired to read the entire Gospel of John again for the first time in several translations. What an eye-opener! I'd always wondered why the WTS gave the Fourth Gospel such a wide berth. Now I knew. The Gospel of John kicks their bummy and calls them Lummy!!!
Our Lord stated at John 6:37 that if anyone comes to Him, that person will not be rejected. I exhort you to do just that. Read the Gospel of John and allow the Holy Spirit to convince you. Hasn't the WTS taken enough from you? Do not allow them to win this round.
Peace and love on your journey,
Sylvia
can't explain this one.. right in the middle of my shift i became disassociative.. my brain locked and i threw my hands up and kept repeating, "i can't do this!
i can't take this!
right out the front door of the bookstore.. i wasn't angry.
Terry, first of all .
I'm happy to see that you have an understanding boss. Something similar happened to me in ' 05. It sounds like too much stimuli leading to brain overload. I concur with you and all other posters that an appt with a professional is in order.
Also, please pay attention to what you are eating. There is research going on that suggests it's best to eat foods that are compatible with our blood types. You can find info about this simply by googling EATING ACCORDING TO YOUR TYPE.
I want you to know that I think you're one brilliant, funny, acerbic, and all-around great guy. Please, please take care of yourself. JWD just wouldn't be the same without you.
Peace and love,
Sylvia
