I don't feel that i'm screwed up. Sure, there's the possiblity that some things about me would be different if I wasn't raised in the Organization, but I don't think I have real major issues in my life because of it, or minor things that can't be changed as I continue on.

but it's just not true !
I want a woman that is strong intellectually, emotionally stable...to a reasonable degree, and is an excellent communicator. I have a sort of goofy sense of humor so it wouldn't hurt if she had the same. In the end, she would have to be someone that I can have a strong connection with on so many levels. As far as looks goes, i'd like for her to be attractive to me.

due to the way i was raised a jw i constantly felt guilt for trying to act like the other guys and it made me stand out even worse.
to this day, due to this, i nowdays become somewhat physically ill whenever i hear a brother give a talk where he says (many here have heard it in different forms) "if jehovah was looking at you youths in the congregation during school could he tell the difference between you and a worldy person.
" myself and most of the other jw guys during middle school and high school did not have the confidence or the "rough and ready to fight" type of body language so we tended to get picked on.
I never got bullied.
There were many that just couldn't grasp some of the views I was forced to have had, and that in turn led to me being constantly interrogated as to why I did or didn't do certain things. To top it off, my dad never really explained to me why on alot of things, like Christmas for example. I was just told to say it's against my religion. That in turn led to many children making fun, not of me, but of the religion. At the time, I took that as a direct insult of course, but that was expected since we were all taught that many wouldn't understand "true Christians".

i am reading the power of self-esteem by nathaniel brandon, ph.d.. i have never had much self-esteem.
i was not raised a jw, so i can't blame it on them.
here is a list of obstacles to the growth of self-esteem.
I'll say that I can relate to alot of what you posted. My self-esteem has always been somewhat low.

well its finally here........ the day i get the pep talk.. considering i havent been out in service for 6 months and i never comment because i cant parrot the wt, and i havent been to the book study in 2 months cause the revelation book makes me nausious........ (that why no more revelation weekly reviews --- sorry oompa!
yet when i talk with bro's and sis's i seem to be the one in the know, i am the one that knows what is going on in the org and am up on the "new light".
i am "so smart".
I'm glad that things went that smoothly.
I find it quite interesting that they'd admit to not filling out the "no blood" cards. Here the BOE seemed to hound the congregation about not filling them out.....I never filled it out even after that.
I hope door-to-door magazine sales field service goes well for you on Saturday and you don't flip your lid while having to endure it.

From what I heard, the society did not apologise for 1975.
They did apologize in a sense for leading ones to put so much emphasis on the date, while at the same time blaming the R & F for saying that the end would come in 1975.......so perhaps that isn't much of an apology at all. If i'm not mistaken I believe it's in a 1980 Watchtower. Perhaps someone else has the direct reference.

They don't care for the most part.
I was in a book study where chronology was being discussed and i've never seen so many puzzled and indifferent faces at one time......and that was during the CO's visit where the entire congregation was present. As someone already stated, they might regergitate the answer right of of the book when questions of the sort are asked. Between the flip flops and "new light", they just don't care to keep up anymore, and no matter what "the slave" throws at them, they'll accept it without question.
