Their showing how lovely and christian like they are in front of each other, afterall they are out in the field, it is all part of the game, and maybe they would want to set a good (hypocritical) example for one another. pooh

Why is it that......
by JH ineach time i see jw's in the field service, and they see me, they will wave at me with a big smile as if we are still friends.......but when they aren't doing anything related to jw work, like if i see them at the grocery store, they wlll more or less shun me?.
i was taking a walk earlier, and a few sisters got out of a minivan, and were walking towards a house, and they saw me and waved at me with a big smile.
one of them was an elders wife.. i think that they want to show that they are serving god, and they are saying, "look how spiritual we are dear inactive brother.... .

Bugger - Elder pops around for a visit unexpectantly
by WT=watchtrouble injust recently had one elder come around to see what what happening.
don't you hate it how they think they can just come around without calling first.
damn that annoys me.. anyway, he said whats happening mate, we haven't seen you.. i mention 607 and how secular works dont support this.

They call unexpectedly to see what you are up to, they do that thinking you may have gone back into the world and doing something unscriptual.
It really is rude to call on someone out of the blue, I've had that happen a few times and to me they appear like detectives. I don't answer the door if they come around uninvited or without notice.

Letter - Anonymity Required?
by Steady As She Goes ini am baptised and wish to write a letter to the brooklyn branch requesting a response to two belief-related issues regarding which i have recently educated myself.
the reply to this letter will likely play a large part in my determining how the rest of my life is lived.
i have decided that whatever i do or do not believe in times to come, i will not disassociate myself.

What Snakes says...and there is no way you can remain anonymous and expect an answer to your question as well. Give a bogas name and the address of a friend you can trust.
The Society holds no one personally important.

happend in 1919 Witnesses still celebrated Christmas and did other "wrong" teachings like used the cross up until the 40's or 50's? What exactly got cleansed?
I thought that was new light, thats what they would say, the catholics never celebrated xmas up until the early century so maybe they had the light before the JW's

These res were supposed to put the world on notice - ask why the world never heard of the notice they were given.
If that wasn't so funny it would be sad. Just got over the war and living in a depression and these numb nuts are telling them that they are going to die at Armageddon very soon, what the

OOTB.. thanks for coming back and explaining a few things, was good to know that the PO was not trying to trick you, I thought maybe he was.
I'm here because I need a place to come to for company about my distrust of the org, and am slowly putting pieces together, it is hard when you don't have anyone to talk to about it, you feel all alone, and not sure who in the congregation thinks or feels similar to you, so being on here is a place of trust.
Welcome.

Sad Sept KM QB part tonight. They have a plan. Sad.
by oompa inthe question does say it is witnesses getting these study groups up.
one scripture you will not hear during the part is the one scripture jesus himself spoke of small groups getting together, this one:.
matt 18:20 "for where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there i am in their midst.".

It simply is no ones buisness what anyone reads, looks up on the net, or what sites or forums they belong to, how bloody dare they cause these divisions with in the familys of JW's that exactly what it does, now if poor ol Johnny wants to have a chat with some other witness or whoever on a site he has to hide it in fear his wife finds out, completely innocent and yet he is branded an apostate.
My point is they plant distrust of one another in our minds, the next thing will be to watch any one that owns a computer.

A third class of jws?
by logic ini was sitting here thinking of the crazy things that the society keeps dreaming up and changing at their whim, and also reading several articles by the society and secular on the greek words hieron and naos, the outer temple and the sanctuary etc.
the society has been flip flopping on this alot.
my idea is that the society could finally admit that russell was correct in the first place, that the great crowd is also in heaven.

There already is a third class. The FDS, according to the May WT, Humbly follows the instructions of the GB. So you have the great crowd, the FDS and the GB. With the GB at the top of the heap.
Yes for sure you right, I wonder what the humble little remnant scattered around the globe think of it, they going to work you know have a real job, putting food on the table and going to all the meetings, witnessing answering up and taking the emblems at the annual memorial, wonder how they really feel about the GB of priests, wouldn't they have questions I mean being annointed and everything, wouldn't Jehovahs Holy Spirit help them see the light.
I do know of a couple of people that say they are annointed and have their own web sites against the GB. But what about the rest. I remember when I first came into the troof I was told that it was vertually impossible for an anointed to be under the age of say 60, but they seem to be getting younger and younger, they would have to be old enough to have experience and be able to have empathy to judge us, you know be in the know.
I also thought that the annointed had to die a martyre's death like Stephen, what about all the Malawi b/s that were tortured and murdered those of the GC, what about all the b/s that battle on day after day in poverty and ill health, those faithful ones that have been faithful for say 70yrs or so, wouldn't they have more empathy for the suffering that some of those GB or all of them in the tower. Yet they are treated like royalty and looked after pampered like kings, oops forgot they will be kings, as Paul said in 1Cor 4:8 they have already began to rule.
The whole idea of the GB is evil, and to me I think it is just a political buisness body who pretend to be spiritualy supreme over everyone. It really is disgusting.

Watchtower articles on Muslim religion? Are they afraid to speak out?
by Terry incan anybody quote any articles which speak out against the radical muslim terrorists?.
the watchtower made its reputation in the 1900's slamming catholicism and christendom.
surely you'd expect them to lash out against the muslim extremes.. or, are they afraid to do so?.

I still hear this comment frm dubs....."The Muslims don't believe in the Trinity. They think Jesus was a prophet, not an atonement." In all, I think JWs are nice to Muslims
Skeeter good point, I find this to be true, they are peacfull when found common ground in the Western World.
So dont' rock the boat.
