SciFi Prophecies
by LtCmd.Lore inthere have been a lot of science fictions films, series and books.
well, the genre has been around for a while now, so we get to look back at some of our past films and books, and see if they have proven true, or false.. .
asteroid belt:false and true.

Sometimes it is easy to start thinking that these authorized writers are doing more than merely entertaining us. Especially ones like Asimov and Clarke, it appears they write to condition the public about things that are planned to be.

"Or is it another control BS thing. Also anyone figure out why they are suddenly calling themselves Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses? They seem to be really emphasizing they are the CHRISTIAN congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses a lot recently."
Since this involves the WT, and by extension lawyers are involved, one of the corporations they set up is called the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. They could be laying the groundwork for that corporation to be a holding company for the congregations, and it would be liable for lawsuits arising from actions of elders and members. This could protect the massive wealth and assets of the 'Tower from these settlements in the future.
This is a speculative guess. We know something is afoot in the org, and they are too secretive to tell the truth about why they are doing things. They prefer to mask it in garbled theocratic instruction.

"Most truths contained in God's Word are in themselves relatively simple. It may be, though, that people with whom we study the Bible have been confused by the doctrines of false religion. Our role as teachers is to make the Bible easy to understand. Effective teachers convey information simply, clearly, and accurately. If we follow this guideline, we will not make the truth more complicated than it needs to be. Avoid unnecessary details. There is no need to comment on every aspect of a scripture that we read. Simply focus on what is essential to clarifying the point under consideration."
The reality is that it takes a copy of the Watchtower to really muddle up a simple passage of the Bible. With convoluted irrationality and nonsensical contrivances, even the most straightforward Bible passage can be rendered into a steaming mass of Watchtowerthinc.

Great minds truly do think alike.
I think that clip was perfect for the image. All so very surreal. -

so, needing some help against this supernatural foe where else could the kryptonian hero go but to the watchtower?!?

Ah, but he knew that he could get that amulet from the Watchtower, you know, the one that the thief in the Live Forever book was making off with.
The Scooby Do gang? A stoner, a lesbian and a mutt? I think not.

Well this is interesting.
If they are getting communications from the 24 elders then it means they are channeling messages from the dead. Hmmmm, isn't that called "spiritism"? And is that not forbidden? It would certainly explain the nature of the many "truths" that were channeled over the years.

beth sarim, miracle wheat, masons, UN-NGO, etc
by Hortensia ini am always interested to read the reasons people have for rejecting the wtbts.
many people seem to really object to specific doctrines or specific actions of the wt leadership.
i didn't leave the org.

The main thing that showed me that WT doctrine is a bunch of hokum is the idea that all those scriptures and Revelation were describing some old geezers in Brooklyn who are obviously not reading their Bibles but perhaps channeling their nonsensical verbiage with an Ouija board or divining them from chicken guts.
Come on! The whole Jesus is Michael is the Pope is Abaddon is Satan business is way loopier than the three-in-one trinity idea they ridicule.
Also, if these guys REALLY thought the end was so nearby and it was their duty to warn people, you would see a saturation campaign that would have you seeing and hearing them on every broadcast outlet making their case. Instead of such a lifesaving message, you get Benny Hinn or the Crouches or some such theatrics, while the Bethel boys are piling up their treasures in Babylon and sending out poor downtrodden reluctant "volunteers" without equipping them for the task.

How long have humans been on earth?
by loosie inwhat is the general theory of how long homosapiens have existed on earth?.
is it 6000 years?
50,000 years or something else?.

I would go along with millions of years, with civilizations rising and collapsing.
Not a popular view, and if you want your Adam and Eva 6000 years ago, or your Homo Erectus or whatever, fine by me.
We are here, now, and have to deal with current reality as it is.
