although i don't believe any more, noah's ark was always my favourite story (sick really!
) anyway.... i want some counter argument to this problem i see with the story.
gods words, ..he is going to bring a flood to get rid of all the wicked people.. god gave noah dimension for the ark.. so before noah built the ark, god already knew that no one but noah and crew would survive.
the other thing that's brought up sometimes is how the continents shifted during the flood....but why would god cause a global flood to kill people when people of that day were pretty much in one region?

i was told not to even look at them when i studied, but i did not buy the satan stuff about them and said well what have the watchtower got to worry about if they have the truth and no skeletons in the closet ?
i was quite tempted to speak to them and felt rude and judgemental , what did you used to think about them when you were dubs in the trufff ?
i live in an urban area, and teh last assembly i went to i yelled for them to shut the f^$k up b/c they had their bullhorns and were just being annoying (to the utter shock of the elders silently surrounding them)....even though i probably agreed more with what they were saying, people who are obnoxious, and i include canvassers with clipboards who follow you after you say no.
so, i'll tell someone who's homeless and agressively panhandling me to f&%k off....they're all pretty much the same.
i get that tony soprano look and tell them, 'what did i just fu*#ing tell you, would you like to escalate this?' that's especially fun for agressive canvassers who usually don't have a clue of the politics they're really supporting, but get a dollar per signature or something.
gulp, back to my post. there are better ways, classier ways...to get the word out there about the wtbts.
i applaud all who have written books, put information on websites, and those who started this forum.
maybe a good question would be, did anyone ever leave the borg b/c they heard through a bullhorn how bad it was?
when i was a kid and completely bought into the borg b/c of my parents and teh propaganda, so-called apostates scared me and they did nothing to make me feel okay with them by yelling. think about the kids, scaring them will leave memories of ill will and probably keep them with the borg if they don't have the ability to think for themselves.....give them candy, offer them rides in your car, tell them you're a friend of their mothers.
(way kidding on those last few suggestions.)
a lot of ex dubs i know have said they did not enjoy it at all , and i certainly got the impression it was more of a duty than a privelidge by ones who are still in it , they even asked if they could use me to get thier time in !!!

i had some moments, months on and off in my 20's, where i really enjoyed it b/c i could start bible studies pretty easy since i had a good personality for it....i never bought into pressuring the person and focused more on the bible....looking back i had a buddist approach to it, even though i didn't know it, but i made sure to respect people and their time at the door and never bought into the reasoning book objection crap...well, i did when i was a teenager, and that always just returned hostility from people, so i learned and made sure to respect their beliefs.*
when my eyes opened up and i saw some of the really bad stuff not getting resolved in the organization, i stopped actively offering bible studies (i would do it when going door to door, not on return visits), but i couldn't actively recruit people into an organization i started doubting....even though i believe i was doubting a bit before since i didn't like to focus on the publications of the wtbts.
i faded about three years after that, putting in barely any service time, just enough to keep the elders off my back, then decided to just stop putting in field service time....they still had me w/ priviledges, even after three months of no time, i was like, 'who do i have to f*&k to stop doing these microphone duties?'
then, my eyes opened even more, flashes of past experiences and how they were handled and they didn't make sense and i got out quick.
*and respecting others beliefs isn't the m.o. of a good jw.
i turned over bible studies when i switched halls and started to fade....oh dear god i hope they didn't become jws.

elders, for example, through jcs are privied to info about the jw involvement with the un, 607 bce, etc, etc... .
people who actually do study a lot, you think they figured it out???.
its the good ol' boys club. even if they disagree with each other during JCs, etc., they can't voice that in front of other publishers. all to protect the facade of having it together as an elder body...but that rises to the top, and elders feel they need to protect the organization even if the logic of their reasoning is absurd, most will not budge from protecting the organization like they're in the nazi party and the wtbts is hitler.
all on one scripture misinterpreted.....who really is the faithful and discreet slave?
nominating myself is as pathetic as the wtbts and how they've nominated themselves.
oh, and the other illogic, that jehovah is taking care of things in his due time, and we don't know his due time, and its all happening for a reason.
i just finished reading steve hassans combatting cult mind control.
i found it to be an interesting read.
i have been inactive for 2 12 years now, so its impact was not as big on me as it would have been had i read it shortly after i began to have my doubts about the jws.
thanks for the recommendation. i haven't read the hassan book yet, but COC and i was halfway through apocalypse delayed when i needed a mental break.
greetings jwd community, it has been quite some time since i have checked in hear.
i guess that is a sign that i have deprogrammed from my 40 years in the org and loving life like never before.. anyway, i get a call from an active jw family member today who tells me there is new light in the feb 15 wt on the generaton teaching.
i looked back through a few pages of post titles and did not see anything related to this topic.
the end came, then went, king david was zapped up to heaven, but then his watch wasn't working and he is ice cold again....at least he got to tap the a$$ of bathsheba, but what a slut she was for prancing her naked a$$ all over the roof tops.....so he waits for his reward for being such a great guy and writing the psalms and all that...i'm sure with his track record he was pres. bush of his day and the colin powell of days of yonder actually wrote the psalms and david signed his name to it and begged bathesheba to pretend like she was a persian nurse again and he needed a colonoscopy.
