Absolutely, Steve deserves the Olympic Gold! And I'm not just saying that because I'm Canadian.

did steven bradbury deserve the gold?
was he really the fastest?
the silver medal winner was from seattle.

let me try to be the first to congratulate steve bradbury for skating a brilliant race and winning australia's first winter olympic gold medal!
which is surprising because the population of australia probably wouldn't know what snow was if it slapped them up the side of the head.

But we are vey pleast whid beating bigg canada in Ishockey, 5-2, how abaout that, canaidiens.
Happyman, what on earth are you talking about, Canada beat Sweden 11-0 in Ice hockey.
I suggest you re-check your facts. :)

Sorry Flip you've led sucha sheltered life and aren't aware of the geography of the Great Southern Land. You do know where it is, don't you?
Of course I do Ozzie!
Australia is just off the west coast of California, or possibly the eastern coast of North America, or something like that.
But thanks to Steve's Gold medal I'll take the time this year to check one of those flat things with squiqqly, coloured lines to finally find exactly where a billabong slurping jumbuck is located.
Anyway, regardless of how many snowflakes fall once every decade on a 'hill' found on a remote island in the Tasman Sea, faithful Aussies will never know winter like Canucks know winter (unless one has lived their entire life in Victoria BC).
Surely the reason why Canada has one of the lowest populations to land mass isn’t because Australian beer is better that every one shies away from living in the Great White North!

Hey Buff's, it wasn't Bradbury's fault the four other guys couldn't skate and crashed. Hanging back and letting the leaders fall all over them selves like the WTBTS writing department coming up with 'new dogma', was brilliant strategy!
Steve’s was a classic ‘tortoise verses the hare’ race to win Australia's first winter olympic gold, ever.

jw attitudes are not what they used to be in watch tower land, and theyre changing rather quickly.
in fact, many here have stated that they expect the societies attitude to go mainstream some day.. compared to the time of my tenure as a jehovahs witness, the wtbts is already there; at least the perks are getting better, less window washing and cut-rate travel in the company of persons that guarantee a preferred profile.. to illustrate, check out the link.
apparently, just before the imminent destruction of this old, weary, wicked system of things takes place, jehovahs witnesses (in good standing) might as well create an industry and enjoy discovering what was once considered the devils playground while they urgently wait for jehovah to spring the big a and prang all the householders that should have been preached to while jehovahs publishers were out having a ball.. im all for a good time but a little skeptical about that twin towers complex tour though.. .

i would like some brief stories of people saying the reasons they joined jw organisation.
where you already in another church, were you disillusioned, were you biblically illiterate?
and if it is possible, please let me know where you come from, hoping you're not all from usa.
Tink' said it best for me, I grew up in it. It was all I knew...and all I was 'urged' to know.

my mother and grandmother are dubs, so it was a part of my life from the start.
both my dad and grandfather weren't, so it was what they call a divided household.. that sucked coz, after the meeting we were hurried off home to please the unbelieving mate.. so i never got to have real friends at the meetings and never had any activities outside of school.. as i got older i began to fit in with the school mates but felt restrained as we always had meetings to go to.. to cut a long story short, i got baptised when i was 18, had trouble keeping on top of meetings and witnessing etc.... i went weak, then inactive, found myself a girlfriend, non-witness, talked her thru the issues and problems i was going thru and so she decided to study.. we got married, she was baptised and things were going good.. as they were always pushing at assemblies to pioneer we felt we had to do that.. so as our circumstances allowed, she began pioneering.. you know, i look back and can say there was so much pressure put on couples who didn't have a family to seek first the kingdom.. as i had a checkered past according to some in the congo, it was a battle to attain privilidges.
but i worked at it, i would auxillary pioneer each year and use my vacation time to do it, brown nose the co each time he visited, and bend over backwards to do anything the elders wanted done.. and as time passed i became a ministerial servant.. then in order for me to become an elder i had to really work my ass off.. so i did, i sorted things out so i could also become a regular pioneer.. after 18 months of doing that plus continually working hard for the org i was appointed elder.. my family was stoked.. i had a sister whose husband had also been appointed elder, my other sister was a regular pioneer and my brother was living with me and doing as much as he could.
I have only been truly freed over the last 6 months or so.
I will write about that soon.
Looking forward to your next installment Kep, thank you.

i'm sure i didn't dream this but as a jw child i seem to recall.
this explanation for the flood:.
before the flood it didn't rain;there was a huge canopy of water.
Before the flood it didn't rain;there was a huge canopy of water...Anyone buy this ??
Rummy' For myself, it wasn't so much believing in the concept but of trying to ignore it and making damn sure one didn't dispute the logic in public.

well, it's finally over.
last saturday i talked with an elder about how i feel about the wt.
we talked for about 3 hours.
…that maybe, just maybe, they would understand my position. It hurt, to be honest. I didn't commit adultery, kill someone or rob a bank.
Volt’ actually you did something worse, you questioned the validity of what you were told to believe was true and now you threaten their methods of disclosure.
Organizations such as the WTBTS simply cannot survive financially as well as they do if they allow open scrutiny of their operations from those they seek to control.
Remember to keep things in perspective, you've simply lost your job as an unpaid distributor for a publishing company where, unfortunately, there's a good chance many of your family and friends are all employees and the only customers of a jealous Corporation.
