DO BORG-BASHERS PLAY FAIR?
by MYOHNSEPH ini would suspect there are very few posters on this forum who would not agree the wbts has been less than honest about numerous issues and have used manipulation and distortion of facts for it's own aggrandizement.
but do you ever think some of the posters on this board employ the some of the same tactics to characterize the 'borg' in a less than completely honest light?
what do you think?

Peace March around the World
by JH ini watched the news on tv, and i saw reports of thousands of people all around the world asking for peace instead of war.
do you think that these peace rallies will really make a difference?.
do you think that these peace rallies will influence the president of the united states?

As good as the intentions of the protests appear to be, I doubt the folks who sanctioned, agreed with and organized the decision to slam 4 fully fuel loaded, passenger carrying aircraft into two Manhattan buildings, an office complex and a remote field during what started out as a beautiful morning, are listening, let alone, taking to heart the protests requests.
Perhaps if larger and more frequent protests are organized those misunderstood but well-meaning opposing protestors will be impressed with the sincerity enough to relinquish their affiliation with Big Moe's Mile High Club while the Western world promises not to build such tall office buildings.

Marcos, I'm recommending you for this years Golden Globe Award as the most apologetic actor in a non-dramatic role or the most unlikely to throw a cream pie in someones face just for the heck of it.

I just left the orginization.
by rocker inhey hows everyone doing... i am a resident of edmonton in canada, and i am only 16 years old, i just left the jw religion.
i just knew it wasnt in my heart, my parents dont care but i told them that i dont want to go to any meeting or talk to any of our old friends.. they still dont know why..but i fell like it was to much of a currupted situation..i felt like i was taking orders from man, not from god.
i was not baptized yet, but i was going strong in the ministry as a unbaptized publisher.

Me, my personal story is that, I was a big fan of rock n' roll, and I and some other fellow brothes got some fake I.D. made up and we were bar hoping alot,
Correct me if I'm mistaken rocker but I have to question your forthrightness. You clearly stated that you did not get baptised as recognized by the FDS Fan Club Protocals, but your extracurricular activity discription sounds more like the behavior of most of the baptised Vacation Pioneers I witnessed during my tenure as a bonafide pay for my own gas, book-bag carring FDS Sales Associate.
Sa wazzup wi dat. Sounds like you were on the straight and narrow and Pioneer potential to boot.
Oh, and welcome to the board rocker and unless you have leanings towards a provincial political career in Canada, don't drive even if you think you've had just a few.

Why does the WTS say Jehovah will Judge?
by Pleasuredome in.
why does wts keep printing in their literature that jehovah will judge when in the gosple of john it clearly states that christ will judge, and that judging was given to the son by the father?
"for the father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the son," john 5:22

The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son
Technically, Jehovah judges no one perhaps because the Big Guy is busy with other stuff, like sales time slips, real estate, investments and making sure Chase Manhattan treats Him right.
Jesus Christ apparently is not as interested in the financial aspects of the business so he goes around slapping folks with a FDS ruler on Jehovahs behalf when things that might negatively affect prophetablility get out of hand .

A comment from my mother!!
by kelpie ini just spoke to my mum about why the baptism questions change to reflect from god to the borg and she had this comment to say:.
"the witnesses are jehovah's organisation.
with out his holy spirt the organisation would fall apart.

With out his holy spirt the organisation would fall apart.
Actually kel, your mom is correct.
If you took the time to ask her how she defined holy spirit she would answer, Government sanctioned tax exemption on revenue and capital gains."
The same trough the FDS feeds out of as virtually every other private corporation that is supposedly entrusted with the sociological and psychological health of a community .
Without that blanket tax exemption, the vast majority of Americanized religious corporations would turn to meadow muffins in less time than bovine takes to excrete. An aftermath Governments are loath to deal with.

What if they woke up all at the same time?
by JH inoften we had threads that said, "what if we are wrong"?
but lets reverse the question and ask, "what would happen if they realized that they were completely wrong"?
imagine 6 million people not knowing where to look anymore for spiritual guidance.
-
Flip
What do you think would happen if 6 million witnesses all of a sudden realized that they were serving a false religion?
Perhaps most who call themselves Sales Associates of Jah are already well aware of what it is they serve, but have either learned, to fear personally arriving at a point of view not approved by the group, or learned to love the corporate esteem that comes when one is recognized as being an able and efficient influence on behavior and ultimately the financial contributions of ones peers.
As far as comparative religious growth goes, I suspect given enough time to allow revenue to compound, it shouldnt be that difficult to make billions of dollars and acquire real estate using a proper balance of selectively ignoring ethics while denouncing the practice, and a generous government tax exempt status.
There must be a few religious organizations that exist who simply choose not to sacrifice ethics and actually provides tangible help to the community at large rather than go for the big bucks, only to give a token pittance in return for the governments generosity.

He's a great man and full of wisdom. As Jesus has said, we should continue to love one another. Sometimes that's all that matters.
Although gramps is past his prime as far as being a long-term publication consumer, if theres an inheritance involved, perhaps you could suggest the elders help him fill out the planned giving paper work -- better late than never.
Sometimes, love is all that matters, but actions speak louder than words. Love, unaccompanied by a signed check doesnt pay Pattersons bills.

Meetings were held at every single Kingdom Hall to discuss its implications.
I can imagine those special meetings were positively upbeat because surely the implications discussed at the Kingdom Hall would eventually benefit the protection of victims and ensure the identification of abusers.
Or were the meetings all about protecting Jehovahs needs.
