  Become a Witness??

  hello all...well i am very new to this site.

  i have recently been contemplating of fiding out more about the jehovah's witness religion.

  i have done some research, have talked and am friends with witnesses, and am ready to take it a step further.

  You're absolutely correct follower! Coincidentally, just last night, I prayed to Jehovah, through Jesus Christ of course, for your posts to remain incoherent or at least sound like Jar Jar Binks.

  Blood Issue- Calgary Father Needs Help

  the father asked me yesterday on the phone if any more of you could help him out with respect to his financial situation in defending against the wts to keep his daughter alive.

  he is deeply greatful to all who have helped so far.. as you are aware the wts is trying to prevent his daughter from having life saving blood transfusions during her chemo therapy.

  she has leukemia.. the father has won all court battles in all alberta courts.

  Doesn't matter to me. Thanks to the Internet and Simon in particular, this is my opportunity to put some money were my mouth is and hope that the Jehovah's Witness in question might know that some anonymous individual is empathetic towards his families unfortunate plight.

  i must say that crisis of conscience is the first book i have actually read by an ex-dub.

  unlike the society would have us believe, it is not a necessity to read "twisted words" in order to see the light.

  ok, i found the first couple of chapters hard going, but in general, i am learning something new or fascinating each couple of pages i read.

  there are two things.

  in the early and mid 80s there were witnesses saying that the cartoon characters the smurfs were not acceptable for witnesses.

  i had two smurf cartoon books and my mother made me throw them away.

  During the 70's there was a scare in our congregation where a few Jehovah's Witnesses warned against eating manufactured foods that included the above common ingredient. Lecithin was understood to have been made from blood, hence the plasma reference.

  On "The Generation" from 20-year-old ...

  i recently got hold of the book the catholic answer to the jehovah's witnesses (louise d'angelo, maryheart catholic information center, meriden, connecticut, 1981).

  it's a pretty critique of the jws in many parts, especially on the topic of "jws and false predictions".

  with regard to "the generation of 1914" it said:.

  what effect has having a whole section of your life proved to be a falsehood had on you?.

  anybody that has been a witness will understand the time, effort, comitment and money that it took to be a member.

  the way it dominated our lives, affected every decision we made and shaped our future.. some have left and turned to other faiths and some (like myself) have lost all religious faith (and i make no appology for that).

  I wasn't wrong about the 'Truth', my parents were.

  Now, I’m trying to be somewhat more skeptical and less fearful of openly scrutinizing the claims of others, especially of corporations that gain financially from my allegiance.

  New slick WTS propaganda video

  i just finished watching the wts new video - "transfusion alternative health care".

  this is very sophisticated propaganda and a real piece of work.

  the organization is trying to equate "blood conservation therapy" with their own irrational blood policy.

  Thanks for your insight, LE.

  However, in spite of the information that highlights the questionable video, a current jehovah's Witness would likely express that they would rather err on the side of 'caution', not to risk getting AIDS and follow the directives of the WTBTS, just in case the corporation, contrary to medical logic, is actually correct.
