It would detract from what the borg wants their drones to do: keep busy in the preaching work, keep busy going to meeings,
having fun is only allowed when you are having a congrgation get-together....
look at the memorial, they call that a celebration???? you have got to be kidding...that has to be the driest, ''boringest'', dullest, most skullnumbing ''celebration''....remember,
Dub's are led by childless old farts who have no sense of mirth or meriment. The ones on the GB who do have any sense of fun, are out-voted.

How did you feel when first posting on JWD?
by R.F. ini was in heavy doubt about the organization, but still in the back of my mind i was a bit hesitant of posting because it was the "unforgivable sin".
i think it took me 20 minutes to type my first post.
i still felt that once i submitted my post that a bolt of lightning was going to come down upon me, so my hands were shaking as i was typing.

what's in it for the women???
by chelsea ini have often wondered what's in it for the women???
i just read the story of minimus and it is so clear that such power and privilege on offer to males in the borg would be enticing and probably addictive... but the women will never have such offers or opportunities.
they will always be required to be in subjection.

I wasn't part of that ''social network'', so being a JW woman was the most loneliest and depressing time of my life. -now ends my bitch fest.

I also loved that JWs say that man has dominated man to his injury and since women are dominated by men in the religion how is that not a red flag that is it a bad thing!
Hey good point, looking_glass!
And the African slaves did the majority of the cotton-picking work. Shouldn't they have been proud of the cotton industry??
Laaaaame.
Doing all of the work and getting sh@t on for it.and on top of that, we had to be SILENT because we were not to be teachers, and ''THANKFUL'' that we even had the ''priviledge'' of being on stage at all...since we are the submissive gender...gawd!!!! Paul was such a chauvinistic pig.

Most laymen, those not deeply versed in the sciences of life (biology, biochemistry, biophysics) don't seem to comprehend and appreciate how complex life systems are and how incredibly delicate biological balances are. Even cells are astonishingly complex
Very true.... I am not arguing with you, greendawn....just posing a question. Are you saying that only laymen who are not versed in the complexities of cells, etc believe that these complexities have a designer.?
I'm sure you know that there are many scientists who have made it their life work to study our microworld do not conclude that these cells have an intelligent designer...they conclude that the evolutionary process brought about these complex cells....why is that?
(And I acknowledge that there are scientists in those fields who do give credit to an intelligent designer. I am an agnostic, so I am on the fence about this subject.)

Hair must be really sexy.
You know it! & lol @ mtsgrad
in short, there is nothing really in it for women, sure they used to placate us with that stupid kingdom song, and say the women did the majority of the preaching work, like we were supposed to be so proud of that...
I remember thinking that in the new system we wouldn't be subjected to men anymore because we all would be perfect...after all Adam and Eve were told that men would dominate women after they had sinned...before sinning, they were equals. (that was my theory as a JW).

What Actually Made You Leave The "Truth"?
by minimus infor me it was a combination of things over a long period of time.
being raised as a witness, you do things by rote.
but when you see sooooooooo many watchtower inconsistencies, mistreatment of the "brothers", elder abuse, and simple lack of love, it begins to make you start seriously thinking.

I looked around and said "I do not belong here."
Thought the exact same thing at a service meeting...it was my last service meeting, that was 5 years ago.
