It takes energy to stay resentful--negative energy, but energy just the same and it's tiring. Glad you made those decisions, SP. It's truly liberating, isn't it?

I'm happy. . it's weird. . you too?
by StinkyPantz inover the last couple of weeks there have been a dozen or so threads about people having a bad day or bad week.
i feel guilty because i have been quite happy lately.
i've been making quite a bit more money; i've been getting 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night instead of none; i've made several friends at work.

I just can't believe they don't have someone at least to keep some continuity of thought of what they print from one year to the next! They look like they can't make up their minds! And that is not how the holy spirit operates.

Isaiah's Prophecy and it's fulfillment in 1919 (yeah right).
by integ ini have been reading the isaiah book part 2, the book the witnesses are studying right now at the book study.
in this book they everything has a modern day fulfillment...with them.
just as in the revelation book, where the 7 trumpet blasts are referred to as being bible student conventions in the 1920's.

Spud:
In any case, there will be great joy in dubville when this abomination of a book is finished at the bookstudy. I can't remember how many local "friends" have made negative comments about this book and its unfortunate predecessor. All of which I heartily agree with.
That's why I stopped attending the bookstudy until they have finished the Isaiah II book. I just couldn't take it anymore.

Disfellowshipped: Did you believe you were d'fd in heaven too?
by Flowerpetal ini remember in past conventions, years ago, talks dealing with what happens when one is disfellowshipped.
the talks mentioned that not only is a person df'd.
from the congregation/organization but they are df'd in heaven as well.

Hi Blondie,
I'm sure they were misapplying those scriptures.
I remember a drama that was presented years ago about what would happen to those who broke the Mosaic Law in ancient Israel. They were stoned to death. After the drama, the speaker came on and talked about while we are not under the Mosaic Law, the principle still applied; perhaps those who were stoned, might not have a resurrection because by their deaths they were being permanently put out of "God's organization". As if God was done with them.
He alluded that those who get disfellowshipped, while not losing their lives by stoning, wouldn't survive Armageddon unless they repented and returned to the cong/.org., giving the impression that when the cong. forgives them, via the elders, they may be accepted back in, (reinstated) but who knows whether or not they were reinstated in heaven. Thus sort of putting a scare into wrongdoing.

And how did you feel about it? Did you beleive you were df'd in heaven as well?

These words certainly haven't seemed to come back and bite them yet. Or maybe they have, and the R&F just don't know it?

I'm going back to the Kingdom Hall!!!
by iiz2cool inyep, you heard me right - i'm going back to the kingdom hall.
my reason for going back is a very simple one.
recently, after i evicted the book study from my mother's home, some of the jw's came to pick up the chairs.

The bookstudy contribution boxes I am familiar with are just a plastic recipe card box, with a slit, probably cut with a knife, on the lid.

A serious sex thread (seriously)
by logansrun inso, i'm looking through some booklets at school (college, mind you) about sex and abstinence and all that good stuff.
seems like the department of health really promotes just holding hands and smiling at each other as opposed to mind blowing orgasms.
this got me wondering.

All I have to say is see these movies: The Bridges of Madison County, Unfaithful, Same Time Next Year, Cousins and figure it out for yourselves!
