I like Prince too and loved the parody video. I wonder what other JW Discussion boards are saying about his video ... if they even have seen it.

And, maybe, it is not too late.
by nvrgnbk inand it is also time to end the nightmare of slavery to the diseased ideals of mindless growth, rapacious consumption, and the utterly insane notion that unrestrained self-interest ought not be controlled.
though the fundamental freedom to pursue one's own interests is absolutely vitaleven sacred and must be protectedwe must stop justifying the cruel, unrestrained pursuit of wealth and power.
we must stop glorifying greed with the now popular lie that unfettered avarice is our best guide down the path of the greatest good for the greatest number!

THE UNIVERSE - What do you now believe about it?
by Black Man ini was watching this documentary on the various galaxies and it stated that the universe is still expanding, planets are being created as we speak.
it also detailed some of the planets within our solar system and some beyond it and speculated how some were favorable for habitation and that some show evidence of having a water supply.
what do you believe about the universe?

Life lost
by Phil ini have previously posted on the subject of finding people who could help me get some testimonials from experienced jws who have been shunned by friends and family.
this was my way of getting my daughter to wake up to the realities of what is going on with the organization she is associated with.
much to my sadness, i have been notified by her husband that she died this morning of lung cancer.

Memory Photo Album of the 2007 "Follow The Christ" Convention!
by Nosferatu inthis year, i've decided to compile a photo album of some memorable moments that occurred at this year's convention.
jehovah's happy people sit, attentive with notepads in hand, eager to indulge in the spiritual food that the faithful and discreet slayv has prepared for this most important and memorable event!
here are some of the more memorable people who were in the audience:.

When I was a kid, my mom and I would team up with another lady and her daughter at conventions. They were good friends, and us girls were the same age. Whenever we would doze off, the girl's mom would nudge us and tell us to pay attention but when SHE dozed off and we would nudge her, she would say, "I'm not asleep; I'm just resting my eyes." yeah, right.

WT Advice
by XBEHERE inin all the years that you were an active jw did: 1. going out in the ministry when you were down or felt depressed every make you forget your problems and cause you to feel better?
2. going to meetings when you had to rush around and practically yell and scream at your husband/wife/kids to get there ever cause you to feel better that you went instead of staying home to relax?
these are the top two elder solutions to jw problems.

Sometimes I would feel paranoid at the meetings, and wondered if something was wrong with me.

New Watchtower format is all because of Blondie!
by drew sagan ini was just reading a thread about the new 'exciting' format for the watchtower and how there will be a jw only edition.
add to this what i believe is the new rule that da'd and df'd people are not allowed to receive the magazines unless they attend meetings.
this all got me thinking.... .

Thoughts while mowing the yard
by Undecided ini was mowing the yard this morning and as usual i was thinking about life and such.
there were weeds with pretty little flowers and some cherry trees trying to grow.
i just mowed them down because i like the way grass looks better.

Well, on a similar but different note, whenever I am planting anything in the garden, thoughts on things apostle Paul (who I disagree with a lot) run thru my mind.....about sowing. (1 Cor. 15:42-49) He was talking about the resurrection (heavenly) and how the dead are sown in corruption and raised in incorruption, etc. It makes me think that everything is sown (planted) for it to have life. The man plants a seed into the woman, and a new life is formed. You bury seed into the ground, and life comes up (grass, plants, flowers, etc.) So maybe, for those of you who still believe in resurrection of some kind, we all have to die before we have life again, in some form, which might be "pushing up daisies."
Sorry, I just had to end on a light note!

On average, how many non-JW/Invitees did you see at KHs on Sundays?
by NotaNess ini was thinking about my 1 and only visit to a sunday "service" as an invite, to a kh a few years back.. it never dawned on me til now, but we showed up in collar shirt & slacks / casual dress, and immediately felt way under dressed (& uncomfortable due to that).
and now i think that relatively, there's probably not a lot of new faces that are seen in these small congregations, and although i felt like i was initially just going to another "church service"...i really wasn't, was i?.
now i'm thinking that silently, everyone was probably so tuned into my wife, my daugther and i when we showed up and throughout the service.

Not that many and almost never the same people regularly. I was just thinking yesterday, one of the pioneers in the cong. I used to attend, would start studies, invite them to the hall, and then you wouldn't see them much after that. I wonder if it was her method of studying with them, her personality or what.....but I have no idea if she ever aided someone to the point of baptism. It's probably too late to ask her that now.

Forget You Ever Saw A Bible Or A Watchtower
by nvrgnbk innow, what are you left with?.
what does your observation of reality, the natural world around you, teach you?.
what is real?.

What is real is your life. Choice is real. How you choose to live your life is real. The universe is real, and I have to agree with jaguarbass; I see design in the natural world and the universe. Looking up into the night sky, gives me a reverential feeling.
Man is getting closer and closer to known realities, though. Many are ready for facing the
unknown without a crutch. Count me in.OTWO, I agree.
