I just picked this one up. When I checked out at Barnes and Nobles, they said it's going loke hot cakes.
So far, I'm loving it. He postulates that" god did not create us, we created god."

i've heard there is a very secretive process the wts uses to determine whether or not they'll consider someone "of the annointed.
" from what i've heard it's a very rigorous set of questions.
can anyone here confirm this?
I don't think that's so. They take people at their word, at least to their face. Behind closed doors, who knows...

my computer crashed, and i just got back online... it's been almost two weeks.
the last thing i was typing was a response to a post where i had mistakenly said that an asian lady i was engaged to was 25 years my junior... what i meant to type was that she was 25 years old.
so for the record, i have never been with a 15 year old; not yet anyway.... imagine how i felt when my computer crashed an i wasn't able to correct that record for two weeks.... oops!
Yeah sure, that's what they all say!
I was wondering were you were.

raises hand.
i found this book while perusing a book store in midtown manhattan.
it overwhelmed me because all this time i thought i was not "normal" (i can hear the peanut gallery now).
Go to humanmetrics.com and take their personalty sorter. You'll find it very enlightening.

i like the way many of u think.....anyways since early 90's when i was dfd i totally abandoned the society but left my great amazing son in it ....didnt speak to my family except my mom for about 14 yrs and as she always invited me to move back home rent free!
in an empty house they visit from time to time.
i kept thinking: well my dad is getting to be 71 now ..and even tho i still speak in secret to my son (he had to stop seeing me 2yrs ago) maybe ill bs my way back in and i can actually see my son again and reestablish family ties...since i had broken up with my girlfriend.
Welcome, and thank you for sharing.

i have always loved animals and have had pets through out the years, so that got me thinking about my jw childhood, not to many dubs had pets, i remember only a small handful of dubs that had a dog.
i wondered if there is a jw realted reason for this, so far the only thing that i can think of is that a pet "would take up valuable time that could be better spent on field service" .
any one have some information on this?.
I think for the most part this was left to the individual, but I do know some who had weird ideas.
One pioneer family would not let their dog inside because they said the Isrealites considered them unclen. The same family refused to eat at the local Craker Barrel because they heard a rumor that the servers were lesbians.
We had a circuit overseer once, who, in one of his talks, spoke about people who treated their pets as children: kissing them, pampering them and missing meetings when the were sick. He made it clear that these we no no's. His personal "pet pieve" I"m sure (no pun intended).

i never cared about chronology.
i was never interested in stupid convoluted explanations about dates or how a scripture in revelation applied to the anointed.
it was always bs to me.
I was born and raised "into it". I don't think I would have been interested in JW's or any other religion had I had a choice.
