my guess is probably not, or if they were they weren't that much of a jw or their perspective isn't so relevant to jw thought - i trust those that have been out a while understand what i mean, hindsight and all.
what i'd like to do is draw out a contrast that some may have by way of their personal experience, maybe a "worldly person" or other non-jw that is an example of someone that has a great and helpful perspective on life, vs. the jw one.
there may be people from this board, but i think even a specific telling moment with a simple thing could be good or even better.
There are "deep' people in ALL faiths- it's incredible how the human mind can convince itself of fallacies! As a Catholic I never questioned Transubstantiation, for example- never questioned Hellfire or the Trinity! Firmly believed it all!
No- there is a difference between a "deep" person (who sooner or later will FIND God) and the typical shallow person- who rarely thinks or cares about weteher or not there is a God!

I'm starting to see that- based on your experiences. I guess I never had that problem- they just want to get rid of ME, sometimes- for speaking out! But the love I have for the friends, their love for me- and the scriptures I wield like a Ninja- all prevent them, when it happens (3 times in the last 20 years!)...and, of course, there is the Holy Spirit!
It is VERY sad to hear what happened to some of you! The key is to "Keep your eyes on the things ABOVE- NOT on the things below!" (Paul somewheres!)

Every group does the same thing (Israel, Apostles, Early Congregations) it seems like we just HAVE to insert our "2 cents" - and mix it with scripture!

Sorry, Onthewayout- I think you're being WAY over dramatic! All you have to say is that you're not interested anymore- and no problems will arise! What do you want to do? Become Catholic? Baptist? Mormon? If nothing else, thru the Brotherhood's Bible Study program you can see THEIR decepton!
I see some of the ridiculous things said by the GB- and just ignore & chuckle at them- since I can't change it. However, it's because of the Truth (seperate on it's own) and the wonderful people of faith in the congregations that I stay; it's just as Christ said; "Where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name"...

i had my tms tonight.
for those who don't know me, i no longer believe, but have only just begun my slow fade.. the meeting was unbearable.
first there was the brother who happily pointed out that i'd missed two meetings recently and that he was keeping track.
It's getting harder to WANT to go for me, as well! The Revelation "Book Study" was about 1919...stayed home!
If you're still going- LOOK UP THE INFO (it's all mapped out) BEFORE YOU GO...Then maybe you WON'T!
