Some are, some aren't. Ditto for atheism. Some atheist groups will scam you; others won't. Quit trying to paint things and whole groups of people all black or all white. There's shades of gray in everything.

Religious extremists in 3 faiths share views: report
by Dogpatch inthis is a valid report, but do you really think there are anywhere near as many violent fundy christians and jews as there are muslims?
seems to obscure that, but it succeeds in pointing out the dangers of fundamentalist religions.. randy.

The problem is not religion per se as it includes extra kind, good, bad and violent elements, but it is the bad and violent elements or branches of religion.
To defeat extremism requires addressing the grievance, the problem that is causing the extremism.
For example the extremists among those of the Muslim religion are primarily furious that Jewish persons took away the land of Arabic persons living in what since 1946 or so have been modern Israel and is now the land of the Palestinian Authority.
One possible solution would be for Israel, the U.S. and other willing nations to offer compensation to the persons who lost their lands or to their descendants.
It could be in different forms such as vastly increased services such as free college educations, free health care provisions, open-ended cash payments, an agreement for the slow but sure return of some land upon the death of current Jewish owners to descendants of the original land owners.
That would be a solution. Just saying wipe out so-and-so of any religion is not a solution but the horror of holocaust or genocide, racism, bigotry.
What also upsets Bin Ladin and his Al Qaeda is that U.S. military forces are in Saudi Arabia itself which is a land they regard as holy and where no "infidel" (person not loyal to their ideal of God or Allah) can therefore be without it being as a slap in the face, a defilement.
So what might be some solutions? One would be to relocated U.S. troops into other adjoining lands that do welcome them, such as Kuwait. Another would be to send troops to places such as South Korea even while keeping aircraft carriers in the vicinity of Saudi Arabia. A third would be to seriously pump money into non-oil sources of energy (wind-power etc) making it far less necessary for U.S. economic interests to feel a need to be guarding oil in Saudi Arabia. A fourth would be to get Saudi Arabia which is rich to pay for a larger army of Arabs from within Saudi Arabia and from other Arabic or Muslim lands to protect the oil-fields.
Now, in the case of Western extremists such as those among "Christian Identity" a good solution would be to require tolerance education in schools and in prisons where many C.I. gang members are already incarcerated but from which they will mostly be eventually released.
Solutions not hot words are needed. Now you've read some, why not lobby legislators and other bigshots to put them into effect.

calling Bethel as activism
by Shawn10538 ini think it would be great if the members of this forum would regularly call the society and waste their time with foolish and not so foolish questions.
i think this can be a great way to expose witnesses to subversive thoughts.
for example, i call the farm 845-744-6000, and say, "my question is about why the wt is an ngo of the united nations.

Never harrass, Shawn 10538 as it's against the law.
If you want peaceful, legal and yet also highly effective activism, though, then email me at [email protected].

We all feel the pain of the WT, now what will we do about it?
by dawg ini just wanted to make one simple statement... i've heard many say that they can't get out of this bull, they just faded so they wouldn't have to deal with all the issues that are sure to arise if they use confrontation.
many have said they can't stand to lose family members and the like and that's why they've chasen to fade rather then speak out.
here's what i've lost becasue i've chosen to tell the truth about the bastards.
-

Dawg is correct and those who truly believe in freedom fight for it without "moving on" or "running off" which to exemplifies cowardice or an uncaring attitude.
It might work for some to "move on" who don't have family members still endangered by the Watchtower Society but most of us have family and friends still in it and if we don't keep working to get them out then they stay in danger.
It's wrong to ignore the raping of children by elders and the bleeding to death of children and adults who've been conditioned (brainwashed) to die silently. Enough is enough. Bravo, Dawg.
Email me at [email protected] if you'd like a little help with activism.

Borg Cost cutting measures...can you think of others?
by SnakesInTheTower ini was reflecting on the other thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/135961/2.ashx) about the new koolaid watchtower....and thinking about this being more of an overall cost cutting measure than any kind of old light repackaged as special lite.......can you think of any other examples?
a few examples: no more subscriptions (no more yellow envelopes, no more yellow, blue, green, pink forms).
no more postages sending individual magazines.. kingdom ministry now sent in same box as magazines rather than separate roll of kms to po house.

I quit them about ten years ago. A that time they had begun using artificial plants instead of live plants for the dramas, which saved money.
They were shifting from hardback books to softbacks.
They had gotten rid of meals made and sold at the conventions.
A friend working at Bethel in Brooklyn said the guy bossing around the cooks kept muttering that they must be extra careful with every morsel of food so as to save money.
They were beginning to beg for more donations money including money willed to them. This seemed more common in the winter months and came in the form of platform talks at the kingdom halls and there was also more money needed talk at conventions.

Watchtower Society Over JWs Fielding Techno-propaganda In Germany And U.S.
by Bryan inwatchtower society over jws fielding techno-propaganda in germany and u.s. former jehovah's witness stephan wolf is sending material out of germany that i have just begun receiving and researching.
for example i found a link off of a link that indicates the watchtower society appears to be trying to improve its public image as more christian (and less of a cult) there by putting individual jws up to airing a public radio program about christ http://www.radio-nachgefragt.de/ which is based out of the town of bochum.
previously http://www.standfirm.de/ was formed supposedly by private citizens without watchtower society direction to air the idea that the watchtower society had led jws in germany into heroic resistance against the nazi dictatorship even though the reality is that though there were heroic jws who did what they could and sometimes died as martyrs, wts branch head erik frost actually sold germanys jws out to the nazis.

All the way back into the 1930s the Watchtower Society has first tried things out in Germany then, for those approaches that worked there, they have implemented them also in the United States of America. That's clear from from reading William Schnell's vintage expose' Thirty Years A Watchower Slave. Some Governing Body members although American have also had German surnames, for example Henschel and Schroeder. Gerritt Loesch, from Austria, speaks German.

Of the over 25,000 pedophile cases in the secret files at Brooklyn's Bethel complex, it may be that about 7,000 are from California. You'll notice that more towns in the state of California are listed as places for which silentlambs.org has had reports of JW pedophiles than in any other state:
California Adelanto Arcadia Anderson Aliso Viejo Alpine Bishop Boulder Creek Booneville
Burney Canyon Country Carmichael Clairemont Colfax Concord Encinitas Forrest Park
Fresno Fullerton Gerber Glen Cove Gilroy King City La Costa Lake Elsinore Lake Tahoe
Larkspur Lindsay Lone Pine Long Beach Loomis Los Angeles Madera Manteca Marietta
Monterrey North Cypress Oakland Oroville Placerville Paradise Valley Petaluma Philo Pollock Pines Porterville Red Bluff Roseville Rocklin Sacramento Salinas San Bernardino San Diego
San Jose Santa Clarita Santa Cruz Santa Maria Santa Rosa Sebastopol Shell Beach
Stockton Temple City Truckee Ukiah Universal City Union City Visalia Vista Weaverville
Wilmington Westminister Whittier Woodland Yorkville. For more states and towns click http://silentlambs.org/sllist.htm
Sometimes a single pedophile will sexually abuse dozens even hundreds of children. There's more than 70 California cities in this list. Los Angeles alone may have hundreds of JW pedophiles and being in a major population area each of those on the average have access to far more children than say a JW pedophile in a smaller town like Sebastopol. So, yes, there could be 7,000 victims eager to sue the Watchtower Society even in California all by itself.
True, it's also possible there was a mixup with the 7,000 figure given as members of silentlambs.org, but in consideration of the above paragraph I would say the application may also be in reference to Californians eager to sue. Further, since a gag order was part of the settlements of the three cases (among not just 16 but now we learn 17 total), we can only guess that estimations that each victim was paid $3,000,000 to $4,500,000 a piece may be correct and why the Watchtower Society is suddenly trying to sell off some choice buildings in Brooklyn including one estimated worth more than $30,000,000 all by itself.
This is a great incentive for additional victims in California and all over the world to start suing.
It is interesting that when alive Pat Garza alleged that when a District Overseer in Los Angeles, the Watchtower Society boss Ted Jaracz molested her and other kids in a Satanic, ritual manner, and also that Barbara Anderson has noted that Harry Peloyan of the Writitng Department pointed out Jaracz being anti-reformist regarding child molestation and the accepting of testimony from persons who said they had been molested. This is not an "accusation" but an observation, Jaracz.
As a manner of opinion though I would say that for various reasons the other Governing Body members are crazy to keep you on board, but being in charge of the powerful secretive Service Department squad at Bethel and branched out into the congregations, you do know a whole lot of interesting things about each of them.
They must be squirming every Wednesday when they sit down together with you, and be wondering how much longer you'll be around before your medical condition checks you out. If you last a few more years no telling how much and how fast the Watchtower Society will fall financially and otherwise.
Ted Jaracz and Gene Smalley, quite the dynamic duo. The Watchtower Society is falling. Who of the Annointed will take them on to save it?
Any JW and exJW readers are invited to use the following to type in the names of active JW males in your congregations. It doesn't locate all who have records as sex offenders but it can help pinpoint some of them and so help protect the kids. If you find some, mail a letter to JW parents so they will have notice: http://www.criminalcheck.com/

The Watchtower July 1 Questions From Readers - Each one decides for himself
by garybuss inthe watchtower july 1 questions from readers.
then are we to conclude that jehovah's witnesses oppose the people's use of transfusions?.
that would be a wrong conclusion.
-
bobxkawasaki
The "Questions From Readers" in the Watchtower magazine of Jehovah's Witnesses is often written by Gene Smalley whom Randy Watters identifies as the main person at headquarters who has upheld the anti-blood transfusions view for the past forty years.
This is still another weak, lame effort by Smalley to confuse medical and legal experts and those wanting reforms from within and outside Jehovah's Witnesses.
Smalley is embarassed because 1 Samuel 14:32 proves Acts 15:20's saying "abstain" from blood is not written in stone but flexible when human life is at stake:
Of Saul's men who were about to starve to death it says "They pounced on the plunder and, taking sheep, cattle and calves, they butchered them on the ground and ate them, together with the blood."
Christ at Matthew 12:7 says God wants "mercy" instead of "sacrifice."
Stop the deaths among Jehovah's Witnesses, Smalley, Jaracz and others on the Governing Body. Christ, not you, is the most Faith and Discreet Slave of Matthew 24:45 appointed over all things. You fail to respect human life, deeming the symbol of life, blood, better than human lives including the lives of JW babies. Shame, shame, shame. The courts and legislators will become all the more aware of not only the deaths but your obvious efforts to try to cause confusion so as to escape their attentions.

Going over to CT Russell's tomb, anybody want any closeups? Requests?
by thecarpenter ini'm working on a video of jw beliefs with another ex-jw.
we are going to shoot some footage of russell's tombstone and pyramid and also going to interview a jwd'er about his exit.
i was wondering if any of you have any "reasonable" requests?
-
bobxkawasaki
There used to be a video on the internet in which a man moved his camcorder fully around the big monument and little tombstone and back and forth to the Masonic complex across the road, but I don't think that video is up anymore. So please do the same then upload it onto the internet on YOUTUBE.COM where even more Jehovah's Witnesses will get to see it.
Whether Russell was a Free Mason, never one, a wannabe etc his father was, and it is interesting to see the proximity of the Masonic complex to his burial plot.

Scriptural Support for going door to door please, thanks.
by NotaNess ini'd like to get some detailed support(but not 20 paragraph reports.
are there any of you that ever had problems with the support of these activities, ie, you didn't fully agree with it.. i'd like some thoughts on luke 10:4 & 10:7, specifically, i understand this as (10:7) "find a home to stay in while your in a particular town, and do not go from house to house shacking up".
would anyone think that it supports not going door to door for home bible studies?
-
bobxkawasaki
In the New World translation it says do not "be transferring from house to house." So regardless of if "kata" in the Greek Koine was elsewhere used more in the sense of from one house here to another possibly miles away, still Luke 10 proves the earliest Christians were told by Christ to be focused upon peaceful relationships with people and in fact not to be moving around.
Instead Christ said to bring praise to God's good name the same way he did. How? He helped those in need not only with kind words but hands-on acts of kindness. We are saved as an act of kindness freely by God, meaning by grace, but those who are saved by grace naturally act in ways that bring praise to God helping the poor, blind etc.
Going about banging door after door is not conducive to peacefulness. Going from a house in one area to a house in another blocks or many miles away where there is some evidence of friendliness and hence greater opportunity to cultivate spiritual interest, well, that is peacefulness and the Way of the one true faith that existed when Paul said there was one true faith, namely, Christianity in the general sense, not some one branch of the Tree of Faith.
Luke 10: 5 "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' 6 If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
If any Watchtower trolls are reading this then I charge them to take a copy of it to ALL the Governing Body members, not just Jaracz. They should be ashamed of not obeying what Christ has clearly told them. Among those they send to doors are pedophiles and they know it but do it anyway. This is dangerous to the Public's children and they know that too. Stop the practice.
