started which touch on the matter of jws in japan.however,people continue to ask me `why japanese become jws?`,so i thought i`d put.
down a few of my observations for anyone who might be interested.. as you may or may not have noticed,japan has(had) the fifth largest number of jws in the world.
You forgot to mention the Japanese fascination with rubber monsters that devour Tokyo, which - as we all know - is a metaphor for the governing body that ate Brooklyn.

That's an example of the kind of opinionated bombast characteristic of JWs that helped me right out the door. Their opinions represented truth from which there was allowed no hint of variation.
Of course, when their opinions were shown to be in error, they were not moved to humility, but moved on to their next variation of unalterable truth to replace the freshly disproved unalterable truth.
Did you catch the following in that huge ramble at the H2O site?:

Huh? I thought that was just the way they DID show up. I can visualize the GB sitting around a fantastically expensive rosewood conference table tossing their anti-typical Urim & Thummin down its impressive length, divining the meaning in the pattern of the rocks and delivering it to the faithful brain dead as "new" light.
If that's not how they do it, then how DO they do it? I'd like to know just how they apprehend the will of God. Every technique I know of would be called mysticism by them or Satanism. So how does what the "will" of God is get from the mind of God to the "mind" of the Governing Body. Have they ever said? Does anyone know?

I guess you have to remember you're dealing with an organization that's immoral and unethical down to its very core. They have no compunction when it comes to opportunism.
In one place for example Tertullian is referred to as a "christian writer" and in another he is excoriated for being some kinda heretic. Just 'pends on the expediency of the moment.
As the WTBTS slouches to its unavoidable unraveling, it becomes more and more like the business executive who gives up and goes down to the place where the bums hang out. The clothes begin to get dirty and torn. The physical body begins to deterioriate. And in the end, nothing is left but a shell of the former man. Ruined and alone. So with the organization. They are on a long slow slide now that the central tennants of its defining prophecies have failed, and failed dramatically. They are like the emperor with his new clothes, daring anyone to notice that they are naked...and shivering.
If they hadn't destroyed so many lives, so many families, and hand't midlead so many - and all in the name of God, they would be pitiful. Instead, they are detestable, a failure, an utter failure that will soon be forgotten and finally disappear from the stage of human endeavor altogether.

hi, just a question about something that i have been wondering about for a while.
did anyone else have the feeling that they had to discover who they were when they moved away from the wts?
for the majority of my life i had been identified as one of jw, that was how i saw myself and it impacted on everything and everyone else in my life.
Yep. I think many people coming out of the Borg have forgotten who they are. That's what being in the Borg means, after all.
But with some practice and a lot of unlearning and cleansing of your mind of the JW propaganda, you will slowly but surely come back into yourself. You'll be fine. Just trust in yourself and in your guiding spirit. After all, all who are led by the spirit of God are the children of God.

newbies and others are often saying, "move on", in other words, get a life, remove yourselves from the influence of wtism completely.
there are many good answers to this, but i think there is one answer, which has not been much considered.
the international 'apostate' world, to which we contribute, has mushroomed in the last 10 years in: numbers, public profile, influence on the wts policies (and in jws awareness), and in all areas of knowledge about the wt.
You Know:
"...Only Jehovah will be able to perform the task"? How utterly puerile. How callow. But how revealing of your real thoughts.
The WTBTS is an organization of men, dreamed up by men, screwed up by men. And its failures are correctible by men.
If it were God's organization, You Know, it would be perfect, now wouldn't it? That is isn't perfect - by your own admission - means that it isn't God's "organization" but man's.
So much for your insistence that the WTB&TS is Jehovah's organization.

like many of you i dedicated many years of my life searching for the "true" faith or religion.. after researching and considering religion i came to the conclusion that there is not such.
i decided to worship god in my own temple.

considering an apostacy that was well into swing by 100ad, and worse yet by the time the nicene council was held in 325ad... how are jehovah's witnesses sure about the basically protestant canon they initially accepted which was canonized about 376ad at earlist and still even then, many christians didn't agree upon that and still don't today!
i could go into more detail if desired... but upon what basis to jw's accept this canon from an apostate generation?
how do they know that other books such as the book of enoch originally held to be scripture and quoted frequently in mark or the shepherd of hermes should not be included as inspired?
And God inspired ME to reject all the intellectual nitpicking, get out of the Borg, and go about living a life of doing as much good as I can.
And as I suspected the modern day scribes and pharisees don't like it. Still want to play spirituality as mental one-upsmanship.
