I wonder how the Borg feels about Esperanto. That's a made up language for sure. In fact, most languages are synthesized from two or more other languages. It's a waste of time discussing anything with the Borg for more than fifteen or twenty minutes. That's all it takes to get it so broken up in their thinking process there is no further hope of recovery.

Receiving Holy Spirit
by JH in.
as a jw we asked god, in prayers, for his holy spirit to understand things better and be a better teacher of the good news.
did you ever feel god's holy spirit give you strength or understanding?

There was nothing there until I got rid of every bit of JW influence and then asked from a place of purity of heart. And then BINGO, there it was. It was so real and right there before me. And I realized, too, that I could have asked as a JW and would have never heard a peep.

I have a very, very large problem with the idea of grace as "undeserved kindness". When you do something for your children that is loving do you call it or consider it "undeserved kindness" or in your mind you do feel that your children deserve all the kindness you can prepare for them?
If you think that they don't deserve your kindness, perhaps it's true then that they DO DESERVE your unkindness and this is where child abuse starts.
You are a child of God. Of course you deserve his kindness. I wouldn't accept any other kind of God or any other kind of kindness. And that is part of the Good News of the Kingdom.

KGB and others, if you think Bush is bad, controlling other's lives and reproductive health, you just wait until a left wingnut gets in there and gets a shot a controlling you. You'll think Bush was Francis of Assissi.

She is a "tennis player" from Russia. She doesn't play much tennis, but she bends over to pick up the balls real well.

You did something, sir. And that's more than 99 percent would have done. You did a good thing whether it was enough or not enough. My highest respect for you sir, with many thanks.

Bad Association
by Nosferatu inwere you ever marked as bad association by a particular person or family in the congregation?
did you ever find out the reasons for being bad association?
-
Francois
Why yes! In fact, I was marked as bad association by each and every family that had a nubile daughter lurking around. They all complained about how I "looked" at their daughters when speaking to the presiding overseer - my uncle, with whom I was living.
I complained bitterly in my defense that I had no special way of looking at anyone. I said that it was just because I was a twenty year old guy of fairly handsome countenance, had at least 15 pounds of natural hair, who sported up-to-date threads, and drove one of only about 5,000 MGA 2-seater hardtop coupes ever imported into the US, and had hazel eyes that took on the color of whatever I wore and which had the appearance of looking slightly sleepy all the time. I CERTAINLY couldn't be held accountable for that, could I?
And it seemed that all the compaining was being done by the males of the households. Neither the nubiles nor their mothers for that fact had any complaints. So my uncle let it lie - so to speak.

I sat next to her on a flight from Miami to Hilton Head. She is so self centered, it took away all the fun of sitting next to her. Her attitude seemed to be, "OK, American Horn Toad, when are you going to make your move." Just for that, I didn't make any move and just read my book. That'll show her. Stuck up bitch.

I join all who like shushi and shashimi. It's really great stuff. It's the THOUGHT that's keeping you friends from trying it. You should turn of your minds and try it. Perhaps you should stay away from some of the more exotic stuff at first like salmon roe. But you could do shrimp, crab, non-oily fish, etc. It's really, really good. In fact, I'm going on a shushi diet this week to get some of the fat caused by Effexor off me. I'm tired of the neighborhood kids coming over to play "let's find Frank's original chin."
