here are a few thoughts from online discussion to start things off..... at least rejection you know outright.

betrayal is always found out after the fact and always at a bad time.

So rejection is more like frontal attack ... whereas betrayal is more likely back stabbing

What say you jgnat.. is length of time of the relationship not a big factor ?

My reaction to betrayal has typically been humour... meaning you must have great self-esteem

If someone is not going to comment I'm going to start thinking that rejection is the worst

Is it possible that with the more time that passes such as years or decades the two words blurr ever closer ?

Rejection is the WORST. I know all about it and it eats away at your self confidence slowly over time.

The Society loves the use of qualifying words, i.e. "apparently", "logically", "evidently"

evidently sounds like evidence,

apparently says clear, unmistakeable,

logically says sound reason

"irrisistable conclusion" used when different meanings for" this generation" was discussed , takes the cake though

"irrisistable".... evidently because logically meaning for all the other options have run out .. this is clearly apparent

how valid are commitments made while being a jw.

several times on this board i have read comments from people who were considering joining a new religion.

and how a jw baptism was not "valid", so there should be no problem while getting ready to join the new church.. if a baptism is not real, what about other aspects of life,, such as a marriage ?

outside of the legal requirements that are written down and recorded, from a spiritual standpoint, is it just a bunch of nonsense ?.

Jw's ... there may not have been time and space to ever think clearly for yourself only.. if you even dared to do so.

Vows are vows , commitment to vows is what is not real if not done with proper motive or mature knowledge of what is involved

Do people thoroughly realize that the power of vows ? If we do not make vows and do not have a goal, we will not be able to generate any power in our daily life, our speech, and our actions. Therefore, vows are extremely important.

one of the hard core doctrines of the wt society, and many other religions, is that women are to be in "subjection" to men.. in the bible, in genisis , it says the domination of women by men came after adam and eve disobeyed god.

eve was cursed by pain in childbirth and that from then on as a curse: "he shall rule over you " from then on the male was to dominate the female.. but that was not in the original plan.

this was a reversal of the plan and a curse.

So much frustration is born out of years of not having a voice & being trapped in a situation where there is simply
