  2008 awake july p.11 "bibles view of spiritism" "...says luis who is from puerto rico;"from the time i was a child, my family was involved in spiritism....i thought my ability to foresee the future and read tarot cards was natural.

  i could often pick lottery numbers and help others win money.

  he must be rich...oh only for "others" what a shame!}.

  how far we've come in just the last ten years.. just ten short years ago, the term jw "apostate" still carried a stigma of held-over shame to most ex-jws and they rarely called themselves by that term.

  i wore that badge proudly, but i had already been out of the wts for over 20 years by then.

  slowly, but steadily the term went from shame to neutral to a badge of honor!

  i was pm with a@g and have with others here in the one-in-one-out marriage situation, and have a question.

  time flies.....i have been considered apostate for at least two years now, and it seems my wife says she loves me all the time....almost makes me uncomfortable.

  i have changed, not her, and i realize that.

  Yes, apparently it's official. I am an apostate. I'll try keep this brief:

  I have been DF'd for about 5 years now. I have been teaching my friend's (not a witness) son bass guitar for a few years. He is only 15 and his mum is a witness so still goes. He is actually pretty good now so I have got him to come along and play at some of my gigs for experience. I messaged him tonight as I have a gig coming up I thought he could play at. His father rings me and says there is talk about me being an apostate - not that he cares - but causing trouble with the witness side of the family. I apparently even have a website too! (In my facebook profile I have "Religion is the cause of all evil" in my profile so that must be it!)

  The funniest bit is he said it was coming from my family. This family would most likely be my sister WHO'S HUSBAND SLEPT WITH MY WIFES BEST FRIEND IN MY HOUSE AND BLAMES ME FOR BEING BAD ASSOCIATION! (read one of my older post for details) But that's ok because they still go to the meetings.

  So, thank you one and all, I finally made it.

  Graduation and elders meeting!

  hi everyone, i'm not new here just haven't posted in a while.

  for those who remember me i'm graduating from college on wednesday!!!!

  i'm very happy but there's still a dark cloud (pardon the dramatic-ness) i am still with my non-jw boyfriend of almost three years and i've let my parents know that we want to get married (next month) and they went and told the elders(they did it kinda behind my back) who now want to meet and talk with me!

  I'm over caring whether there is or isn't (although I lean towards isn't)

  Why does it matter when:

  1. He/She/It is obviously not interested in what goes on down here
  2. I don't need a deity in my life to be happy
  3. And the opposite side of the coin from point 2 - I don't need a deity telling me I need to hate/kill/judge people who don't believe in my deity

  If you want to keep the peace while you are living at home at get stuck meeting with them - just LIE, LIE, LIE (where required). Not like any of us are getting destroyed at Armaggeddon because we've been judged by some nosey dumb ass elders. Oh - and congrats, well done by the way

  Jehovah's Witnesses and Apostates

  jehovah's witnesses basically define the term "apostate" as someone who was once a member of the "organization" (a jehovah's witness) but no longer follows the teachings, rules, regulations and practices.

  the society gives their official definition in the following manner: "apostasy is abandoning or deserting the worship and service of god, actually a rebellion against jehovah god.

  some apostates profess to know and serve god but reject teachings or requirements set out in his word.
