  i posted here a couple of months ago, or less.

  my home computer crashed and they cracked down on messageboard sites at my work, so the work laptop was out.

  plus, i just felt emotionally burned out and just didn't want to think about it anymore.

  I LOVE GOOGLE. It is the reason I am employed. I am in I.T and I am not as smart as people think I am (I went rooftiling for 8 years because school was a bad influence) so I am always seeking answers.

  It is also how I started uncovering the real truth. You may at times get erroneous articles promoting something (same as wbts does) but at least at the same time you can also get articles trying to disprove them. You as an individual can work out what is fact and what is crap.

  I'm converted and I hope more people will be...

  i'll start with my congregation....... there have been about 7 disfellowshippings in my congregation alone within the last year.

  over half the congo is inactive and many more are irregular pubs.

  young people in the congo are dropping like flies.

  I hope it fades away sooner than later so the few family I still have in stop wasting their time.

  Since I was DF'd I have had all of my closest friends leave, 3 of my 4 siblings are out and 3 elders (and all their kids) in the cong I was in left - one of whom is a very active "apostate".

  first let me say - my father is a top bloke and always has been a down to earth kind of guy.

  i am df'd but he treats me and my "worldly" wife like nothing has happened regarding the truth.

  he was himself an elder once and also df'd once.

  Anyway last night we were watching a documentary on the pyramids. All of a sudden he comes out with "Russell was into the pyramids". I thought I was the only one that knew this in my family because of my research on the net since I've been out. I didn't want to go to far so I just asked why Russell used them to back up his date calculations - it has nothing to do with the bible. He commented that Russell initially thought that and then changed.

  This doesn't seem much but my Dad is a smart guy so I was surprised. My whole life in "the truth" he has never said anything like this to me - but he continues to go. For a long time he has been critical of a lot of elders we know because they are out and out knobheads.

  Is this the start of the end for him.....I hope so

  just wondering if anyone else has aquired the "evil" laugh after they stopped being a jw?.

  few months ago with-in my family (the non-witness side) i confided about many of the things i have come to learn from this site and other sources.

  being as some familys do, word got around about my "apostate" thinking.

  Laptop Users I need your help

  i'm going to buy my first laptop in the next week or two.i want to know what else i'll end up needing to go online with it at a wifi hotspot?there are a few of them around where i live at coffee shops and things like that.do i need a wireless service provider when i'm at these hot spots??.

  also what would you recomend i get for use at home?i have a dsl modem that will allow me to have 4 computers pluged into one modem.i want to be able to use my laptop anywhere in my house.what do i need to reach these goals with a laptop??.

  i've heard of wireless cards and wireless routers.but i don't know what they do or if i need them.i've never used a laptop before i have only ever used a desktop..

  I agree with pope. Kidnap a nerdy 15 year old kid from the local school and slip him a $20 to set it up for you. Don't trust the sales guy either and if you do get vista get 1GB memory - no less. Otherwise stick to XP
