i know some posters here went through or are going through some painful things right now because of no longer believing when they have a husband / wife that still does.
others were able to free the minds of their spouse.
i'm assuming the latter is a lot more rare.. anyone that wishes to share their story, please do.. i'm looking to pass the info on to someone who doesn't totally believe, but may marry a jw.
It got better because she is a worldly woman and never was a JW. My JW wife of 16 years divorced me and I didn't know why until 35 years later. I found her phone number on the internet and called her. She left me because she was fed up with the JW life.

This is the first meeting I have been to in 30 years. I new the speaker's name but didn't recognize his face, 30 years sure can make a difference. The new KH is really nice. He mentioned the telephone being used to send the talk out to those not able to attend.
I'm not interested in going back, was just curious how the meetings were done now.

It was strange, both talked about the same subject, having a spiritual relationship with God. The JWs had a more mental discussion, the other church was more emotional. For a change the JW speaker talked about Jesus and how he demonstrated how we should be spiritual in our conduct. He said we were all born by dna and grew physically with no options ourselves. We have a mind that we could develope somewhat. We also had emotions but we also had a spiritual part that we needed to develope according to how Christ demonstrated.
It was kind of fun. I do believe we have a spiritual side but don't feel any need for a book to tell me how to feel. I just look at the universe and feel a kind of spiritual connection to whatever there is that is responsible for it all. There is a lot of bad and good out there but I still love life and the fun I have living it.

JWs arn't the only religion that is a bunch of crap, but many of them are still growing. Mankind has always been without an answer to his existance and uses the books of certain inspired men to entrap them into their thinking. I don't think the internet will cure this. The WT's group will continue like the others.

when you buy a blu ray player or other hd devices, you will need to purchase a cable to connect it to your tv (or however your system is configured).. salespeople will typically try to sell you a "monster" cable or some high priced product.
when buying my blu ray player for $79, they tried to sell me a cable for $59.. beware!
with digital signals, you either get the signal or you don't.
I needed a USB cable and found it for $1.00 at Dollar Tree. Works great.

prayer.. billions of people have been praying for hundreds of years for peace.

not one evidence exists that he hears or that he cares.. can anyone provide solid evidence that god answers prayers.
If things don't get better you can't blame God, but if things do get better you can blame God. That's the way prayer works in churches.

if you believe in "god" do you avoid using the name "jehovah"?
even if you don't accept a god, does using that name "jehovah" disturb you in any way?.
I go to a church with my wife to please her, like maybe a non JW would with a Jw wife. The preacher uses the name Jehovah often. It doesn't bother me at all. I like some of the people there but don't believe any of the bible teachings they use. He does admit that he doesn't understand many of the bible verses. I'm just fed up with the bible and it's diverse use in so many different religions. If you believe it you have to change what it says to match what you believe. The bible says you just have to have faith in what it says and you can move mountains if it reaches the size of a mustard seed. I've never seen a mountain moved yet.
The only saying of the WT leaders that makes sense is "religion is a snare and a racket."

Third generation. All my dads family were JWs. Mom was the only one in her family. She had six brothers and six sisters, none of them became JWs. I don't know how my gramdma became a JW. She was of the anointed class. There is no one alive who could tell me now.
