I am stuck in a life I don't want and can't see the way out

some of you have encouraged me already in the week or so i've been here and i think you.. here's the situation.

i am single.

i am 34 years old.

I feel the same way, and last year it was so bad that even though married with two young adult kids, I made a serious suicide attempt that ironically left me in jail for first time ever. Anyway, it is still bad for me, but my elders, but only one in particular know what I am going through. Since I went to them and my CO when I could not figure some things out, they know how the "new light" shed upon me and not the rest of the cong has affected me. The one elder has been told by me "after finding out the real truth about our bible......I am very depressed, on three meds, tried to kill myself, and now have to choice but to re-evaluate my life-long faith."

And that dear friend is the truth, and it felt good to say it and they are not giving me any grief. zero service for a year now, and a few meeting once in awhile.

NEED HELP finding info on disassociating those who aren't active.....

dear friends,.

i need help finding when, how and where i might find that announcement..publication...where the new procedure was not to announce ones as being dfed..but now they were to be annnounced as "no longer one of jehovahs witnesses".

with that change, it made it so that those who were not active could technically be announced.

Thanks guys, I have missed so many meetings this past year, and asked so many unaswered questions of my elders and the GB that I figured my announcement was next.

We've been invited to a JC

for those of you don't know our story sweet pea and i stopped attending all meetings quite abruptly about 4 months ago.

since then we have had a few ill-advised conversations with jw friends and family stating our reasons - sometimes in emails.

also sp emailed a new friend on another forum her experiene with going to a new church.

NEVER DA yourself in this situation. You simply do not have a crystal ball to know what a JC will do. If you have any friends/family you want to hang with in WT, then make these guys work, and hard. One of them may really not want to make a mistake, and may want to err on the side of mercy if you did screw up, but never admit to that.

1. Dress up, leave kids alone, bring Ref. Bible.

2. Cry--LOTS. Act stunned. You have been going through a rought time and are on all kinds of meds. You don't know why anyone would say or print anything bad about you, and certainly don't ever remember saying or writing anything that could ever be construed as apostate. Could one of my dear brothers or sisters really not be my friend and made this whole thing up? I hardly how to even use a computer. Could this be a big joke gone bad? What the hey is apostate talk anyway, cause you don't know or understand. You are confused. Boo Hoo, how could someone do this to us?

3. You have so wanted a sheperding call so you could get some encouragement, and thought that is what this was all about.

4. Just help us and let us know what to do to make things right. We miss you guys so much, and we know you guys are not well paid, so thank you so much for caring.

Make them slit their wrists and have numerous sleepless nights before they could bring themselves to DF you.

The percentage of demonized people compared to the number of Christs early followers is HUGE.

So where are they today. Supposedly Satan and his demons have been banished to the earth since 1914, and I just don't see them or those they posess. In the ministry, I've been in some scary houses, but nothing floating around or goin bump, and only weird people, not demonized.

Do elders try to get rid of demons in people? Any stories?

I am your pain, and can not talk to my wife and son (at Bethel) about it any more. I tried suicide last year---could not cope with all I had going down the crapper. Now on lots of drugs to be stable. Only your wife can help herself, and never argue. You could ask her for help. Ask her how you can explain to people at the door why our New Testament uses the name Jehovah, while theirs does not. She may even know that we have restored the name "when quoting the Hebrew Scriptures" so just wait until you see a study in the Revelation book and ask here why we have inserted the name Jehovah there when it isn't quoted from the Hebrew Scriptures. In fact not once in Revelation is "Jehovah" part of a Hebrew quote, and there are dozens and dozens of other place in the NT it is not a quote.

We have changed the Bible in a big way and in many other ways to fit our own doctrines. Truthful people to not do things like this and keep it hidden.

I so wish this guy was right and we JW's have the truth. My life would be so much more simple. It is so kind to admit that no one in this org. is perfect, and gosh-darn, mistakes have been made, and of course change happens cause new light keeps ashinin-----Do I Hear and AMEN? AMEN! Yes thank you Brother.

I also can cut people slack for making genuine, honest, imperfect man, mistakes. What I can NOT condone and what can NOT come from Gods Chosen People is deliberate, flat out lies. This faith is based on the Bible, the NWT Bible, and I have defended and praised it for years. Until I realized we broke Rev. 22: 18, 19. Do you even know that the Name Jehovah has no place in Christianity? Check you Insight book under Jehovah, and you will see how suprised we are that not a single ancient Greek manuscript in the world contains the name Jehovah in the New Testament. Yet our bible has removed kyrios and theos 237 times and replaced it with Jehovah. We have done this since 1950. We never tell anyone the truth. We tell them at appendix 1-a that we have "restored it where quoting the Hebrew Scriptures", but that is not the real truth. Since we are currently studying Revelation, look up every use of the name Jehovah in and guess what? Not a single quote from the Hebrew scriptures, and don't just look for quotation marks, because half the time you find them in other books of the NT they are not really quotes either.

Knorr did not tell us this when the NWT was released in NYC in 1950. It is not in the forward where it states the resoration of Gods name is "the foremost feature" of the NWT. It is not in any footnotes, appendixes. It is not in ANY reference work WT has published including the DEVINE NAME brochure of all places. We have made it our name for Christs sake! And although it is great we restored it nearly 7000 times in the OT, that wasn't enough. No we had to add 237 more, and every time we read that name to somone from our NWT Christian Scriptures, we are perpetuating a fraud, plain and simple. It is not a mistake, human error, or imperfect men at work, it is an ongoing lie that proves we can not really have the truth. Every time you see it now in the Greek Scriptures, you will think of me. No matter what book it is, check and see if it is really a quote from a Hebrew Scripture, and mark your bible accordingly.

We alone have dragged the Hebrew God Jehovah kicking and screaming into Christianity, where he never even appears. I don't see how this central fact can be ignored.

I thought you were a nut from your subject line! Like really seeing subliminal stuff in text and photos. I guess in a way though it is, if you parse it as a true super theocrat. I always read stuff and parsed it a way to be as liberal as possible rather than strict, but I have always been very non-judgemental. Good job and too funny.

actually SuzyQ, I forgot to agree with Greendawn, the door to heaven is open again so the GB can keep being ran by the EXCLUSIVE anointed, and not us udda sheep. Heaven forbid that to happen.

From suzy q---Stay with me here, but the JW/watchtower group has never said all the 144,000 heavenly chosen had been selected; have they? And if they still haven't be selected; how would this make door to door easier? Mostly people who come into the group are not of the 144,000 let alone the faithful and discreet slave class. 1914, Generation doctrine belief change!

i had the dubious pleasure of explaining the 1914 generation change doctrine to a relative who has been a jw for all of his life the other day.

he didn't even know that there had been a generation change and that the wt was no longer claiming that those alive in 1914 would still be alive when armageddon struck.. however, he said he would only believe me if i could tell him the exact date of the watchtower that explained this change.. though i know it is 1995, i do not know the exact date/issue and he refused to research it claiming it would show lack of faith on his part if he questioned his beliefs....but he said he would look it up if i told him which issue it was.. so, please, could anyone direct me to the exact issue in which this world shattering event was revealed?.

i remember, many jws, especially elderly ones being shocked at this revelation, but obviously this particular relative was not concentrating at the time!!

Interesting is that there has been but one mention of this in any magazine in 12 years. Not a single talk to my knowledge. Of course we LITERALLY had to cut and paste new infor in our old Revelation book this time around. So now we have nearly teenagers who have never had the oportunity to hear this "truth" or "new light". I was going to say these kids will probabaly be babtized shortly, but many probably started getting dunked at 9 years old.
