Adam was a perfect man.........

do any mainstream christian churches hold this teaching of human physical perfection?.
(i know that adam and eve is a myth, but bear with me for the purposes of discussion!

jw mind talks:
I agree with Terry that if Adam was perfect, he would not have sinned.
adam was perfect to do anything he wanted. he had a free choice. he wasnt able to sin by "accident".
That would mean that God created imperfection, even in his animal kingdom, where did viruses / disease come from?
bacteria and viruses are a important part of nature. we couldnt live without them. because of the sin creation became imperfect and thats where illness started. before sin this system was perfectly balanced so noone would become ill.
Either they are the product of evolution, or God made them, or you could believe that evolution's catalyst came from a creator.
god made them. and through sin this became flawed.
-------
of course that raises for my non-jw-mind some questions:
- Is it righteous to create humans and give them the ability to have a free choice and PUNISH them if they use it?
- When nature was perfect before and even viruses existed "what" made "sin" to imbalance it? isnt it a act of DESIGN to change viruses/bacteria/the whole system and animals to an imperfect state?and finally:
- WHY the hell created god bloodsucking animals, when blood is SO sacred? (my mum told me when i was a child maybe satan created them LOL!!!!!!!!!!!)

Why don't Witnesses indentify themselves at the door when in service?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy 17 year old daughter told me 2 men were at the door saturday looking for adults that lived in the house.my wife and i were out of town for 2 days.they had suits on and carrying book bags.
they asked if she was over 18. she replied that she wasn't.
they left without indentifiying themselves.

When I started out, we would present ourselves as Jehovah's Witnesses, but then after a few years I remember it changed, mostly because people would slam the door right away if you said that.
So then we started the whole "We're in the neighborhood talking to people about the current state of the world. What is your opinion on how the world is today when you look at the news?" etc. Even when asked who we were, we would be evasive sometimes and try another round of "We're trying to encourage people to read the Bible" etc.
i always used and still use the magical word "jehovahs witnesses" and "the bible" for avoiding a senseless discussion :-) ya, i still go to service occasionally to calm down the elders.
Today, I understand the "doors" perfectly. If some strangers come to my door, the first thing I want to know is why they are here and what they're selling. Oh, and btw - I remember kinda laughing at people who we could see were home because the peep-hole in the door would go dark then light. Well - today I am that person on the other side of the door. I hate opening the door if I don't recognize the people standing there, and most often I don't answer...
yeah, i always laughed about that too. you sense how they try to make no noise lol :-) i always understood the "doors" :-) when i was no dub and someone came to my door talking about dub-stuff i wouldve thought "ignorant religious idiots".

i believe there isnt that particular sentence "adam was perfect".
but he was made in gods image, god saw it was "good" and he actually lost something when thrown out of paradise.
in jw doctrine a "perfect human" isnt infallible, but without "construction errors" which lead to illness, death and stuff.i always wondered how the PERFECT WOMAN looked like

What a screwed up childhood
yeah, same here!
a whole youth spent in guilt, in tears and fears.
so every time we had a bad storm I thought "this is it" I'm gonna die, The big A is here!
exactly. i know of a girl in my cong. who woke up one night when a heavy storm was outside (one of the biggest i have ever experienced) crawled into her parents bed and said "this is armageddon, is it?" everyone in the cong. said it was SOOOO cute. ha, it was damn sad. shes adult and married now.
to be honest. when the weather is really bad or something else (a loud bang or something) is outside my brain STILL thinks of armageddon. i now that it isnt armageddon, but i think about it when something like this happens. i believe i NEVER get rid of that :-/ makes me angry.

for me it always was 50:50.
i always wondered who will get the price.
liberal jws or conservative jw?! the ones that do watch movies or those who dont and spent their whole day studying and in service. i thought about Matth. 7:13,14 all the time and concluded maybe only a small part of the witnesses aka the hardcore ones will get it.
i was never good enough in my opinion.

do you still JWspeak?
by knock knock inbut, i see that a good number of people here still say things like "i came in to the truth..." or "i learned the truth..." etc.
not being nitpicky or anything but just curious as to why do some still "talk the talk" so to speak.
just out of habit?

yeah, sometimes i do. i feel weired when talking about a lie and calling it "truth", but you know... its a habit. and i dont think its a problem, everyone understands here. and in most cases i use ""...

my JW mind says:
its not ours to imagine armageddon and the new world now. god will care for it and all i need to know is that it will be great and everyone will be jumping of joy. so it cant be that way it is described in the first post.
tadaaaa...

Yesterdays meeting and the prophecies about cyrus and the fall of babylon
by freeme inyesterdays meeting had a conversation talk about cyrus and the prophecies in isaiah 45:.
(isaiah 45:1-3) 45 this is what jehovah has said to his anointed one, to cyrus, whose right hand i have taken hold of, to subdue before him nations, so that i may ungird even the hips of kings; to open before him the two-leaved doors, so that even the gates will not be shut:2 "before you i myself shall go, and the swells of land i shall straighten out.
the copper doors i shall break in pieces, and the iron bars i shall cut down.

the problem that rise for me yesterday evening is one of the biggest in theology it seems.
this is a perfect summarize for it:
For example, from this perspective Isaiah names the Persian ruler Cyrus who would overthrow Babylon 100 years before there was even a Babylonian empire and 200 years before Cyrus would be even be born (Isa 44:28, 45:1). This, they believe, is physical proof of the absolutely miraculous nature of Scripture. This is often expanded to include claims of total inerrancy and historical infallibility of the biblical texts. Allowing parts of the book of Isaiah to date after the time of Isaiah of Jerusalem (740-701 BC) would put all of this at risk (see Prophets Date Chart).
