i wouldnt try to hurt her. i dont think she actually want to hurt you. of course she does, but it takes a lot of courage to pull a "stunt" like this and make such a soul strip to risk everything. its very likely that she really feels like described and that she may suffer from it. its a bad situation for you and i know how you may feel, but try to get over it. you are the winner so be happy like one ;)

with all the information out there, available for all to see; exposing the lies,hypocrisy, and outright ridiculousness (is that a word?..if not it should be) of this whole witness religion, how in the world are people still buying into this?.
is it because i don't have jehovah's spirit anymore?
dont you remember being one of them? i thought im a critical smart person but felt immediately guilty when i only spent a single thought on the possibility there could be something wrong with my religion. its not easy to allow yourself being critical in this case when you were once fully in.
during the 1970's, 80's and 90's i was always calculating how old the generation was that.
saw 1914. at one time they had to be at the age of discernment 12 to 14 years old.
and then it was just being born by 1914. well we all know that this watchtower teaching.
Now, the number of reported anointed isn't a problem for the Tower Witnesses . . . but . . . the number 144 thousand IS. They'll always have problems with this teaching because it's so stupid. If it's true, it discredits itself, if it's false, it discredits itself. They can't win with this one.
Maybe the Society writers could visit the Bible Students and let the Bible Students explain it to them.
in some time they will change the 144.000 to a symbolic number instead of a literal. but not now. it still works.
jh posted a thread about how wikipedia clearly shows how goofy the doctrine of jw's has been in changing over the years.
so it makes me wonder could wikipedia be the driving force in the no "independent" study?
i know that my whole family uses wikipedia often and use it as a respected source when researching things.
the (technically advanced) jws i know think wikipedia is a nice tool, but there are aware of the fact that everyone is able to edit the articles. so the jw article is obviously filled with apostate lies and they dont even want to take a look at it. i was this way before too. some did take a look and think not as good about wikipedia as they did before now (quote "when they lie about us so much how much truth is in the other articles then?"). and they keep tellin' me about wikipedia that its not smart to trust the articles much since one cant know who writes them (and dont know them personally to know whether he/she is trustworthy) and what is the intention of the author.
its always amazing how critical many jws handle all sources, but the society. they dont know the authors too, but they base their life on the writings. they trust them so much, that every critical note anywhere MUST be a lie.
dont get me wrong, im a critical person myself. i dont trust wikipedia 100%. i dont even trust a conventional encyclopedia 100%. its never 100% under any circumstances.
its just amazing how one can maintain such a big double standard without noticeing it. i did it too! and i always thought im critical. only when it came to the society i felt just guilty and stopped thinking.
try this on the next jw you meet:.
1. ask the jw what religious group jesus selected in 1919 to be his faithful and discreet slave organisation?
the jw will answer: "pastor russell & the bible students"good!!.
i dont believe there is a perfect way to show a JW the stupidity of the believe system.
yours is nice, but it needs a JW who actually KNOWS what happened more than 5 years ago. i made the experience that at least 80% of all JWs dont know shit about their religions history. they're repeating some crap in the book study to answer questions, but they dont LEARN it. the 1918/1919 date is unknown for many many JWs and most would say it were the witnesses who were selected then, not bible students.
PLUS:
the discrepancy between the back then bible students and todays witnesses is that the witnesses STAYED with gods faithful and discreet slave while the ppl who call themselves bible students today are a sect who didnt want the changes god did to his organization. the modern bible students are the descendants of *apostates* from that time. if new light comes from the governing body today and someone chooses not to accept it hes apostate. and if he chooses to create a new religion by staying with the old light hes even worse! the "new light" doctrine can twist things this way and every JW will accept it. not a big deal in my opinion.

it was around 11:30 a.m., just as i was lazily dozing off on the couch, exhausted because my 9 year old woke me up at 5:30 a.m. (he couldn't wait any longer to look through his stocking!).
i was rudely awakened to the sound of a car door slam in our driveway.
1) "oh we're really not part of satans world - were recognized when just walking up the driveway!"
2) "were nice to everyone! even da'ed ones!"
3) "at least were going from door2door even on holidays - the important sign of the one true religion according to the bible!"
i'm curios of what the watchtower society thinks about the year 2012. i think they russell should've used the mayan calendar, and not the pyramids.
at least he would have something in common with the rest of the prophets.

at least its most honest article ive read in a while. two things!
a) be always honest, when changing understanding of a bible passage
b) force noone to believe a current understanding and dont view anybody as apostate if he discusses his alternative understanding with others
