of interest to me is if i move back 70 years from 1914 i am getting the year 1844 which was a known date for the end of the world.. times .... 1844 + 70 years + 70 years + 7 years + 7 years.

so we have the year 1998 ad finally.

but what happens if we split the 70 weeks as daniel 9.25 shows we may extend time !!!.

Difficulty of serving on Judicial Committee

My biggest problem with serving on judicial committees was dealing with other elders who didn't have a clue about the human condition, not always, but several times.

I was never on a committee that DF'd anyone. I'm still undecided as to whether that was a good thing or not.

We Had Dinner w/Venice & Her Parents Tonight

tonight, tracy and i met venice and her parents for the first time, and had dinner.

they were very nice people and we really enjoyed getting to know them.. we talked about a lot of things, one of which was doing an apost-o-fest in florida sometime.. thanks to you venice and folks for spending time with us!.

most religions out there have this thing against witnesses.

many will do anything to get them banned or to shut their mouths.

Last night, my 15 year-old son told me he couldn't understand why JW's think they are persecuted. He told me that when he was sitting on the Golden Princess cruise ship with my Dub sister and her husband a couple of weeks ago, this very thing came to his mind.

He said to me, "Here they are on a Caribbean cruise, being waited on hand and foot, a Corona beer with lime in their hand, and living a good life. How can they think they are persecuted?" He thought it was rather hypocritical.

He also added that they make themselves the victims and that is not healthy.

Some wise observations from a 15 year old.

these questions are aimed at non-alcoholic ex-jw's who have survived or left an alcoholic relationship.. given that the bible says god hates a divorcing, to what extent did religious beliefs keep you in the alcoholic relationship?.

to what extent did peer pressure from the congregation keep you in the relationship?.

what made you decide to leave the alcoholic relationship when you did?.

I couldn't agree more! And I do not believe they should.

Perhaps I was not clear above. I am not developing a technique to help someone stay in an alcoholic relationship. That has already been done with Al-Anon.

My program goes much further and actually endeavors to resolve the situation. Basically, there are only 2 alternatives:

1. The alcoholic recovers; or
2. The non-alcoholic leaves.

I believe far too many non-alcoholics stay far too long in grossly dysfunctional alcoholic relationships resulting in great harm to the family.

I was one of the first to view this post as it came up. There were so many instantaneous reasons that came into my head as to why the above post is utterly pathetic and stupid that I didn't want to waste my time refuting it.
