by OMG! Now What? ini've been considering the teachings of the 144k by the borg and am wondering why they allow women to partake especially considering revelation 14:4 which pretty much says the 144k are men who are virgins.

Believing Everything Someone Tells You
by minimus inare you the type of person that believes everything a person says?.
typically, my radar goes up, especially if a person either brags about all his or her accomplishments or tells you a sob story about how awful their life is.. i was reading here today about how some posters have been upset with others for either feeling someone is fraudulent or is uncaring or caring too much.. the funny thing is that most of us never really know who or what a person/poster is all about.
they could be perfectly upfront and tell you everything in a most truthful way or they could be conning you.

In order to develop discernment, you have to be a good listener.
Hearing is not listening. Listening is interactive: it requires asking questions about what you just heard and giving a feedback response to affirm that you correctly understood what was said.
I have noticed that many posters, instead of asking more questions of the poster, will instead, take some aspect of the post and make such comments as "I can relate to that". Then, they use the opportunity as a springboard to talk about their own situations. It sometimes reminds me of the "my dog's bigger than your dog" senerio.
Just as a hypothetical example, if someone told me they were a new pioneer just starting out and within the first study or two could not answer questions on the resurrection and had to stop the study to go home and do more research, my first question would be "wasn't there someone with you who could have answered that question?" It has been my experience that a brand new pioneer would not be going out alone.
As the resurrection hope is a basic premise for the foundation of this organization, it seems that this particular doctrine would have been drilled in so much that the answers would have been automatic (like zombies, from what I have experiened). I would wonder why elders of a congregation would send someone out all alone and without proper instruction and training to represent the organization.
But that's just me. I would ask questions if I thought there were any validity to a post.
The shame of being duped is that it takes your time and attention away from others who may sincerely need help.
For instance, I noticed someone from the medical profession in ER submitted a serious concern and it took a very very long time for anyone to notice him. A JW possibly needing a blood transfusion came in to the ER last night. Maybe he needed some help to talk to her. Maybe a conversation here could make a difference in saving her life.
When Drama Queens take all the attention on the board (and by drama, I mean how many different issues can one person have in 24 hours????) others who may truly need help do not get it.

they love to quote wwii and the concentration camps, but really only 5,000 died versus 6 millions jews.

They are persecuted because they set themselves up for it.
They do not understand manners or boundaries.
It's just rude to knock on a strangers door at any time and expect them to drop what they are doing and listen to a JW spout off.
They are NOT persecuted in the way the scriptures indicate that one would be "persecuted for righteousness sake."

As to credentials, I won’t say who he is, but I do know him. I was in Texas as a Witness about the same time he was. He writes under a different name. If you Google the Blake Seeley you won’t ever get him by the name he goes by in public. But he’s been in the public eye for 20 years. I don’t know if I should say exactly who he is on here since I don’t know if I will make the matters worse – but I can tell you he is not a Witness anymore, he is very much a Catholic (he worked for the Church for a while and I think he was even considering becoming a priest after he left the JWs), and if I know him like I think I do, he is easy to misunderstand in what he writes. He’s a linguist and a Spaniard and a little more exact in his words in his writing than most of us are.
But I can say he’s harmless. He’s in my neck of the woods right now (Florida), but I think he will be back in Texas in a day or so.
Hypnotic talks about Cognac. (Does she ever mention the surprise mid-night phone call from her friend? Does she opt to discuss what they agreed was the main item of contempt with WTS? What do you think a NORMAL reaction should be upon realizing so much of what you held true is lies? Would you be this light-hearted? Wouldn't you want to be discussing issues? hmmmm......)

To those that made an issue, accused them, and questioned their motives, I would love to know which University you studied Psychology at, and evidently graduated with top honors.
I am sure you did not go to the same school. You would have had to at least complete a high school English course to enroll there. It appears that you aren't able to communicate through a proper sentence. This is a string of run-on thoughts.
University should not be capitalized unless it is followed by a proper noun. "Psychology" is not a proper noun and should not be capitalized, unless, of course, it is the first word in beginning a sentence.
Even though you did not make a complete sentence of the thought, ( "which university you studied psychology at") be advised the rule is that you never end a sentence with a preposition.
Also, you need to make sure all verbs are in the same tense. Your verbs vacillate between present and past tenses.
And just so you can improve your vocabulary, " graduating with top honors" is referred to as summa cum laude.

What will be the reaction in the congregation when...
by JH inwe have many older brothers and sisters in our congregation, and surely the same in many congregations all around the world.. what will be the reaction in the congregations when all these older ones, who were sure they wouldn't die before the end, pass away and leave a vacuum in the congregation.. i don't wish these older brothers and sisters harm, but eventually they will be too old to follow and they will die away.. it won't be the same anymore, when they see these old pillars who stood so faithfully crumble due to old age.. .

Actually a variation of this question that I have, what happens when all the first generation witnesses pass away, when all that's left is the second and third generation witnesses who were never as gung ho as their parents who came in of their own valition. Maybe the orginization will become alot more leanient.
Could this have anything to do with generational curses? There is some scripture that says those who do not keep God's laws will be cursed to the third and fourth generations.
Being caught up in a delusion is certainly a curse.
What happens to break the generational curse?
Could this be any indication that wts will not exist after the fourth generation?

What would you do if your bank locked its doors?

i know that the government insists that will never happen because they insure your funds up to a specific amount but so far already two banks have reduced the amount of money that you can withdraw from your account.
they say its because of increased theft from their atm machines but who's really willing to buy that excuse?
