my hands are sore from all the clapping and my voice is hoarse from all the cheering.
i clapped so much that i bent my silver celtic ring on my left hand...ouch!!
Almost forgot...congrats on meeting up with your friend again after all these years.

I would have loved to have attended my local pride parade, but we don't have one. We have four or five gay bars in our downtown district, but not a single parade. ::sigh::

being pregnant worked really well for me!
lol i milked that puppy for all it was worth!
got to sit in the back room and nap with my feet up!
When I was just a wee nipper, I hated the fact that I never got to watch Saturday morning cartoons - Darned field service! So, my brother, sister and I all would conspire to sneak into our Mom's bedroom and switch off her alarm clock. Thinking back on it now, I can't tell you how many times we did this. LOL! Then we'd creep her door closed ever so quietly and sneak back to bed. Usually worked, but her JW trained internal alarm clock would go off once in a while and thwart our plans.

when will it end?
seems it stayed the same years ago for a good while and now it rises every year or two.. geez!.
I agree, Heaven. I've also had the misfortune of having a payment deducted twice, but the offending company was quick to right their wrong...thankfully!
Brian

on monday she had her prom.
she was indeed the 'lady in red' with her red gown, black gloves.
Congratulations to you and your daughter, Mimilly!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Don't have any info to help you feel better other than to make sure that you get plenty of rest.
it has recently occured to me after visiting one of americas largest family theme parks that there are similarities between the wts and disney.
we all know how the wts puts much emphasis on appearances.
eg...men must wear suits, ties, no beards, no hair touching the ear or collar, no pants for women, nothing that would appear "wordly" (for those of you not informed, "wordly" refers to anyone not a jw).
If I was a Witness I'd probably avoid Disney World like the plague during the holiday season. Of course now I'd love it!

If the Postal Service isn't careful, they're going to price themselves right out of business.
Personally, I only mail one bill a month and that's my mortgage payment. I pay the rest online or over the telephone and for communication purposes I either email or telephone. I thought .34 cents a stamp was crazy, but the increase to .37 is ridiculous. Just my two...er, three cents.
anyone on here have a "most embarrasing witness moment" from childhood?
mine is from 7th grade- that was 20 years ago- but i still cringe when i think of it.
almost too hard to write down- but maybe it will be therapeutic & part of the healing process?
This thread has brought back some incredibly painful memories...
When I was a sophomore in high school I took advanced history (don't know why...couldn't go to college!). My teacher was a real hard-case who thought that the best way for her to teach was to stand at the front of the classroom and 'lecture' us while we took notes. We never took normal tests, they were all essay. One day while I was out sick she assigned term papers from a selected list of subjects. When I returned to class there was only one subject left...Erasmus. Being the good JW that I was, I went home and plowed through the index looking for information and found scads of it. Did my report and turned it in. When she saw my bibliography she immediately gave me a lesser grade - a D. I went to her after class and asked why. She informed me that because I only used one source, a religious propaganda magazine, my report was not balanced and I did not deserve a better grade. Way too harsh!
The same year, my English teacher discovered that I was a JW when I couldn't participate in some of the holiday related activities. My grades immediately began to suffer. Never on things where the answers were straightforward and obvious, but on book reports and essay type questions. Where she had once been friendly and conversational with me she now was downright hostile. I talked with some of the young ones from my hall and their experiences with her were the same as mine. I was able to get a bit of revenge on her, though. Just a few months ago she was running for public office in my area. I used my newly acquired voting skills to help make sure that she lost her election. LOL!
