an ex-jw has killed herself in the parking lot of a kingdown hall.

What will be the reaction in the congregation when...

we have many older brothers and sisters in our congregation, and surely the same in many congregations all around the world.. what will be the reaction in the congregations when all these older ones, who were sure they wouldn't die before the end, pass away and leave a vacuum in the congregation.. i don't wish these older brothers and sisters harm, but eventually they will be too old to follow and they will die away.. it won't be the same anymore, when they see these old pillars who stood so faithfully crumble due to old age.. .

The right name for the people is "Rom"

The name for ANYONE who tries to "gyp" could be gypsy.

Just as there are two (or more) names for most other ethnic groups, the one being derogatory, the other being correct. I will refrain from using examples because I don't want to offend. Hopefully the brighter ones in the bunch will understand what I mean.

Just like any other group, some Rom are honest, some are not.

Be fair. Maybe YOU don't know an honest hard working Rom, that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Yes, I am an X-JW, I am a Christian against abortion and NOW I will also be hated on here because I am half Rom. Wild. Go figure. I thought this group was more loving and intelligent than when we were judgemental, better than thou JWs.

So true. So true. But I also love and had totally forgotten the OLD movie Cat People! Another major favorite is Fiddler on the Roof and another is American Graffiti.

Guess who came to our house on Christmas Day...

it was around 11:30 a.m., just as i was lazily dozing off on the couch, exhausted because my 9 year old woke me up at 5:30 a.m. (he couldn't wait any longer to look through his stocking!).

i was rudely awakened to the sound of a car door slam in our driveway.

I never went out on Holidays that I remember. I can't remember anyone else doing it either but they probably did.

My mom raised me that Holidays were family time and I wasn't usually allowed to even go see my friends! (That was before we were JWs but even after that my mom's training stayed with me.

Bad religion is no excuse for bad manners.

Jehovah's Witnesses Do Not Act Like Christians. They Act Like Jews

because witnesses are less into christ than they are into moses.

when christ talks about turning the other cheek, witnesses talk about why the faithful should shun anyone that doesn't see eye to eye with them.

the jewish religious leaders were condemned by christ for their biases.. why do jehovah's witnesses treat disfellowshipped ones as if they were "dead"?

Weirdest People you've met while Witnessing!!! {Nut cases}

i once called on a guy who invited us straight in...then told us he was "lazarus son of god.

" he had a cazy look in his eye, and would repeat this line every few minutes.

the brother with me was trying to "reason from the scriptures" that he in fact could not be lazarus...i just wanted to leave.

My sister's Bible study called her one night and told her she must come over it was urgent.

When she got there the woman showed her a box and said it was full of drugs. Sis gave her a ride to the police station and couldn't believe how rude the cops were, laughing and all.

Sis said, "This is serious!" The cops asked her if she had seen inside the box. Of course she hadn't and it was full of trinkets, marbles etc. No drugs. Apparently this was a regular thing with the woman. Man, my sister sure felt stupid.
