Generally speaking, baptism shows a decision to "do right". What's wrong with making that decision at a young age? IMO, the problem isn't the baptism age, it's the Pharisaic elders and WT organization!

Looks set up to me...Why aren't there Secret Service people jumping out of the woodwork to protect the President against the "unexpected" attack? Why didn't the President take cover? Fake.

Jehovah's Witnesses Are A Nosy Bunch, Aren't They?
by minimus ineveryone needs to know what you're doing, who you associate with, what movies and tv you see, whether you plan on extended schooling, what you do on weekends, etc.. they want you to account to them.
if they believe you're acting not quite in accord with their standards, they'll inquire about your business.. the elders believe they are literally, god's gift to everyone else.
they expect total openess in every matter including your love life, your goals and your secrets.. like i said, witnesses are so (too) nosy..

Where will you go?? Tell me some good JWD substitutes, please!
by Kudra ini know a bunch of you go to other sites and seems to have found ones that you like.
the only other one i have seen is jwo (before i found jwd) but hated it because all the threads were about, i don't know, rivalries between posters- almost nothing whatsoever on dirt on the wtbts, which was what i was looking for... .
that's the only other site i know of.

Don't forget about Kent's Steinhaug's forum! Kent was online with "the truth about The Truth" long before most other JW-related sites came into existence.

are jws qualified to teach the bible?
by badboy inin the tract delivered saturday, it said that a neighbour qualified to teach the bible would come around if you wanted.. are they actually qualfiied?.
-
AnneB
It's up to the organization issuing the qualifications to determine who is qualified. If WT says any baptized JW or any "publisher" is qualified, then any person fitting that definition is qualified.
It's up to the consumer to determine whether engaging the services of a particular organization will meet requirements or not. Sadly, most consumers have no idea what is actually required.
Caveat emptor.

Just Because I Am Brown...
by XJW4EVR indo not assume that i speak spanish.. it seems to that more and more latinos that i interact with on a daily basis assume that just because i have brown skin, i speak spanish.. end of rant.. edited to add: wouldn't this be akin to assuming that just because a person is african-american that he/she can sing, dance or play sports well?.
-

It seems like you'd be better served by learning to speak Spanish than ranting to people who aren't involved and could care less about your ass-umptions or your color.

Watch Tower votes for Obama
by belbab incoincidence, hmmm?.
the november issue of the ha wake has a picture on the cover with the cryptic caption.
success how can you achieve it?.
-

They're capitalizing on recent newsworthy events; most publications do.
Quite a number of their captions are "cryptic". My favorite was "Women - Deserving of Respect". Was it a statement? A question? Not long ago Barbara Anderson posted some information indicating that there was disagreement on the topic. I still think that the caption reflected the indecisiveness of the editorial staff.

What turned me away from the WTBTS.... PART 1
by megawatt insigh.... wished i would've introduced myself proper in my first post here, but having the fear of being found out too quickly or not being the right time made me censored myself from revealing too much info.
recently though, i just felt the need to get this off my chest, despite the possible risk of being called out, which several jws in good standing are aware of my exact situation.
i registered at the new site (jw support something) since theres some buzz of this site is going off line, but hadn't received my confirmation email yet.

As far as I'm aware, WT says it's ok to take the regular oath of citizenship with the mental reservation that if anything the USA requires is in violation of God's law you naturally wouldn't comply, just as any natural-born "true Christian" citizen wouldn't. There was a Questions from Readers on it in the early 1980's if I remember correctly. Maybe Blondie or one of the others who has access to WT literature would be able to find the item and post it for you.

JW's and Woodstock
by sammielee24 inhow many of you have gone out and bought our rented woodstock?
many people were unable to engage in the freedoms of the time - some because of religion, others because they may have been fighting a war or perhaps because they did not feel a part of the movement.
my older siblings were part of those hippie style movements so i remember them well - i'm going to pick up the disks for sammie to watch.
-
AnneB
Somewhere in the WT literature there is a story that says Woodstock was almost "Wallkill". According to them, the festival organizers first looked for a spot in the area around WT property and when they couldn't find anything suitable they moved on to the place where the event was actually held.

Did you notice that the computer doesn't "give back" in it's "conversation" with the human? All it does is ask questions. The human to human conversation asks some questions and also gives back information.
