I know what you mean. However, I try to be cautious enough not to make it appear that I am totally against it, but just looking for a good argument to defend the position before a non-Witness. I do have, however, at least two friends with whom I can argue fishy subjects, and who have demonstrated to be loyal friends, because they themselves have many doubts.

Since some of us are still active and have to hide our so-called apostate literature, I am curious about where some of you keep it. I have to leave it at my workplace. At least some of it. I manage, however, to have one book at home. This book, which now is In Search of Christian Freedom, by Ray Franz, I keep in a sealed folder. I go out with it and read it and then have to either seal the folder again or use a new folder, and then put it back in book bag. Anyone?

sheep in human clothing: scientists reveal our flock mentalitysciencedaily (feb. 16, 2008) have you ever arrived somewhere and wondered how you got there?
scientists at the university of leeds believe they may have found the answer, with research that shows that humans flock like sheep and birds, subconsciously following a minority of individuals..

I once saw a regular pioneer sister get into a car alone with a non-Witness, who for some time had been showing interest in her. They kissed as she entered the car. She was my friend. A very nice person. I never said anything to the elders. I didn't even tell her that I saw her. That was about 15 years ago.

why does the WTS try to explain how good medically NO BLOOD IS?
by ?me? inlooking at the questions to go over for the blood video, it looks like and i have heard in the past how the wts expounds about the medical positives of not taking blood, and rails against blood for all the problems, diseases, and the fact that it does not always work........... the real question is....... why do they even waste time on that if the issue is supposed to be a biblical/scriptural restriction.?.
even if taking blood was the best thing in the world for you , the wts stance is that the bible and jehovah forbid it, end of story.
there is really no need to try to convince people who want to supposedly follow jehovah's command to abstain from blood.

?me?:
I totally agree with you. They should put it plain and simple: Even if it saves lives, don't use it, because Jehovah finds it repulsive. However, they decide to adopt a less honest method, and misrepresent the value of blood transfussions. The January, 2008 Kingdom Ministry on the issue is misleading. It presents a glossy picture of bloodless surgery, but fails to mention that there are instances in which only blood can save your life.

Shuning the shunner
by loosie inmy daughter goes to a school where one of the office personel is a jw.
my hubby is df'd i haven't been to a meeting in 3 years.
when we go into the office and have to talk to her she directs all of her responses to me even if my husband is the one that asked the question.. once my husband went in there with my daughter and this person didn't direct her answers to my husband who asked the question, but to my daughter who was just tagging along.. this is stupid.

kids and blood issue
by 4mylove inhubby and i were arguing about something, and in my frusteration, i screamed that we couldn't even have a family like normal people.
he was flabergasted and asked why, i explained that i pretty much had thrown that notion out the door because if it ever came to faith, i wouldn't want to raise them jw and he would.
i explained that i could never deny my child treatment that would save his life due to the blood issue.

This is one of the key issues why I keep accumulating contempt for the cult in which I found myself when I was born. I have never been able to accepted since I thought deeply about the issue. As a child, or even as a young adult, I never realized that it is a really criminal doctrine. Now that I have children, I am extremely sensitive to the issue. I will never deny medical treatment (be it blood or any lifesaving procedure) to one of my children.

by betweenworlds inthis is in regards to a question from another thread regarding the watchtowers knowledge of things that were going while they were and ngo through the dpi.
here are some great links from randys site freeminds showing they were fully aware of what was going on, and that their interests changed every few years.. http://www.randytv.com/secret/1994dpi.htm.

Thanks, Betweenworlds. I keep asking myself what was really the ultimate goal of the WT with this association. I am sure we will eventually know. Will it take another member of the GB to become apostate for us to get all the facts?
