i have been a pretty serious practical joker my whole life....some say i am stuck in adolescence (i hope she is 17).
but anyway, right before halloween i took a couple of pumpkins too close to the road at a farmers place and put them in the kingdom hall front yard....i know i should have paid for them but no one was there.
it was sunday night, and was hoping maybe no one would notice till thursday meeting, but they were gone on wednesday.

Well as all JWs learned, Christmas mischief is the founding reason for the NY police.
But I do wonder if such "unauthorized decorations" could be considered a "hate crime"
Just a thought.....................

i chose asynchronous learning because i hold down a full-time job, but i am trying to better my life by finally pursuing a degree as a health administrator and eventually a radiologic technician; i am 45 years old.

Welcome Renae!
You will find lots of support here because there are many who experienced similar things. I still go to the meetings, it can be a bit trying sometimes. I still believe there is no hellfire, immortality of the soul, or trinity, but I do find myself having to choose between the FDS and Jah many times. While this is upsetting, it does help to be able to start separating the two. My husband is not a JW (slim-pickings from JW mariage pool in my area) and this helps some since there is less pressure to be a "perfect" JW. If you have read the Jan 15, 2008 WT then you already know that the pressure to get out in FS is strong, and many congos judge you on your time rather your personal dedication to following the Christ and obeying Jah.
This site has really help me cope with all the things I knew were problematic. Just knowing I am not alone in my questions, and experiences is very comforting. As one poster put it "it is just a local problem".
Looking forward to your future comments on the many different threads!
Cordially,

just wondering, cuz it's so often espoused by those doing the shunning that disfellowshipping is a "loving arrangement," and there must be tons of "testimonial" literature from the borg saying so; however, when i was a jw, i don't recall ever once hearing a previously d'f''ed one giving witness to how loving it was.
Yea, I know some good stories. Usually involved a destructive choice (drug addiction) and how they were begged to repent, helped into rehab and were given support to recover, then came to fully appreciate the Brothers having to keep the congo clean and setting an example. These are stories where "love" was involved.....a rare gem

but I have heard more of loss, heartbreak, and suicidal thoughts......................
as you know, blondie took a hiatus due to illness and she is still not at 100%.
watchtower scans are needed now since they are not easily available.. would anyone be interested in helping here?.
is the watchtower summary, as blondie has developed it, still of interest here??
Interested!.....helps to keep me sane during WTstudy on Sunday!!!!
friends,.
i just confirmed the "generation" change from another forum in portuguese.
the following is the text in portuguese:.
Thats IT!
I officially am going down the path of "really bad JW" and I am going to say that I am starting to think the "GENERATION" was back in 70 CE !!!!!
??? Yknot ???
lets hear it for witness thanksgiving parties!
my wife and i got invited to an elder's house thursdayevening for a full turkey dinner with all the fixings.
there were about 20 others from the congregation.
Yep, even my bookstudy( Thursdays) was changed to Friday night. LOL
in another thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/147300/2.ashx .
don cameron quotes ray franz:.
"it would be an insult to christ jesus to say that he selected this organization on the basis of what it had been teaching as of 1919.. to which teachings would you say he was referring?
1. Celebrated x-mas (1928-banned)
2. Celebrated birthdays 91951-banned)
3. All one class, no divisions
4. Faithful and Wise Slave was Russell
5. Christ was enthroned in 1874
6. Used the Cross
This is just off the top of my head.........
admittedly, i spend a lot of time on jwd, but i haven't seen anything recently in regards to the new light on the meaning of the generation in a while.
there were several threads on here not too long ago regarding how this new light had been announced at the society's annual corporate meeting.
someone said that it would be formally unveiled in the new study edition of the watchtower.
Rumors are that it is in the Feb 15, 2008 issue.
