  At first I though absolutely, then I was told about the time cards they use. I found out that all the bible chats were written down like it was work. That offended me, and I decided why encourage this so it came to a crashing end.

  I will not engage any witness, because it gives them purpose.

  I also believe that blood is thicker than water-family first, no matter how nutty it gets.

  I also have issues about gradual fading-although I understand the purpose thoroughly. I hate beating around the bush.

  Best advise-do what you need slowly- a letter is unretrievable-therefore final. Take your time. Good luck.

  i am a tip-toeing lurker who finally got the nerve to join & post here about 3 months ago.

  to review: i'm in a "scripturally" ( at least by jw standards, anyways) separation, hence the apprehension about posting or revealing too much.

  but, i'm realizing that i'm being a bit too paranoid.

  Welcome. Who said this...? The truth shall set you free... . I think you are right about playing second fiddle. Do you have kids? How about assets? If the answer is no x2 then the answer is obvious.

  There seems to be a common thread here in that marraiges seem to fail whenever someone sees reality, and the other wallows in the WTS. To a great extent, I think the younger you are the easier it is to start over again. Good luck to you.

  Someone explain this.

  "refrain from eating blood"- means no blood transfusions, but eating say a hamburger is ok. The "juice" is blood. I don't get the logic.

  seems to me that the primordial religion, if it could be called that, is a form of paganism that has pantheism, animism and shamanism.

  also, it may contain sun worship.

  in this 'religion', they felt a connection w the land, had respect for nature and the animals.

  RC is right. But do we really think that during the early days of this planet that when early man had to work hard just to survive. Imagine life with creatures all around you significantly larger than yourself thinking you are tops on the food chain. Hardly enough time to worry about religion!

  i have noticed that if someone has an opinion that does not go with the flow on this forum they often get insulted and shot down in flames.

  i thought this was a discussion forum, but i am sadly dismayed to read so much intolerance of another's opinion.

  if you appear to support the jw's in any way, even though people like me may disagree with you, you are entitled to your opinion.

  If I came across heavy handed yesterday, I regret getting some choked up, but it IS My opinion, just as others have their valid points.

  Buy I agree with the Watchtower Society on the issue of killing people. The Society does not support the death penalty, or war. I believe it is a correct choice. Now as far as the rest of the doctrine..... , mind control and so on. Absolutely not.

  If you are in support of the death penalty, you simply cannot be pro life. That is a given. I would however call them "anti-choice".

  And pro choice is not pro abortion. There is a HUGE difference. I suppose that stem cells are on the pro lifers list, too.

  If you want to ask me what I am- I am 100 percent pro life. I just want government off peoples back.
