Interesting. Have you thought of opening up a theology school or university. I think you would do well.

I use my F5 and F11 keys often. If I get stuck somewhere, the F5 is used to refresh just to get the page to move faster. Works well here. If I want to expand the screen size by eliminating some junk on the top - push F11 and some of it dissapears. Push again and it's back.
Just thought you'd like to know if you don't already.

Welcome to the forum. As Stephen says, it's about living, not about making a deal with God for eternal life. You already have that.

Unfortunately Stephen, a LOT of deserving people are losing tons and don't deserve this. It's usually the stock broker that encourages (to the point of lying) you to invest. To those I feel bad-for those who are looking for a fast buck, well that's how the cookie crumbles. We will see tomorrow. Bill.

Wait 'till tomorrow. Aparrently all the world markets took a huge hit today and last week and the only thing that saved the Dow is MLK day. The TSE lost 604 points today along with world markets taking hits as well. That's money that just vanishes into thin air.
If the WTS has a stock portfolio (and they do I beleive) , they would have lost plenty. Tomorrow they might be crying in their Kool-Aid.
Personally I have no stocks, just guaranteed income certificates, but even that will eventually need to be renewed. No advice for anyone for tomorrow, but if you have stocks, I would consider cashing in if you can realize a profit.
Definitely not good news, and today in Canada is now referred to as black Monday.

raising kids without a religion - thoughts, advice?
by atpeace inok, thinking about taking the leap and starting a family.
i've held back for years because of this subject.
almost entire family are jw's, but my husband and i haven't been for many years and have no desire to raise children as one, or any other organized religion.

We have 2 kids, 17 and 12. Both were raised with minimal religion. I will not force any to accept any belief. I believe their freedom of choice is more important. If they find something that interests them, then I will encourage them to pursue. As long as it's not the scietology or watchtower nonsense. All religion must be free. Anything that instills fear or dire warnings will be pushed aside as they are still vulnerable.
I see nothing wrong with minimal exposure to most faiths as long as there is nothing forced. Like choosing you style of music.

Went my first ever Catholic wedding this weekend...
by feenx inand holy shite what an interesting ceremony.

I have been to 2 in Mexico City and they were wonderful events.
In the afternoon, those who went to confession earlier are, later in the afternoon during the ceremony, to eat the bread. The Rev. said each time: Cuerpo de Cristo. Body of Christ. During the ceremony you are to sing and recite. I could only mimic because of the language barrier.
Near the end of the ceremony the Rev. ask to get to know your neighbours. Imagine total strangers walking towards you with a smile an a warm greeting. It seemed so sincere. Imagine looking at this green eyed 6foot tall stranger(me) and still offering a warm greeting.
The receptions are lavish and last 'till about 3 am.
So you understand, the Catholic faith is engrained into individuals as early as 3. They must learn all the songs, and wording off by heart. Everyone there understands what is to happen next. Like Choreography.
Too bad the Watchtower is dull as dishwater. If they could eliminate all the shunning and other bs, they might be able to increase their numbers substantially. Lucky us they don't.

Listen to JWs ... or Else!
by compound complex indear friends,.
the following is nothing new, yet i found frenchy's comments from 8 june 2000 a perfect, brief declaration of the mentality of "god's people.
" this exclusivist stance is fueled irresistably by rutherfordian-style rhetoric:.

Yet it states in the bible that all will be saved. Not sure where but it's in there. Could someone pull it off for me? Thanks.
