  Wife has gone back to the Organization...what can I expect??

  my wife and i have been married for just over one year.

  while we were just dating, she had told me that she used to belong to the jehovah's witnesses, but no longer had those beliefs.

  i thought i could handle all of this (i am a non- believer), but she has since got back to the org (all her family belong as well).

  Ask her if she think of you as a" worldly person". Then...

  Ask her if she thinks you are a "fornicator". If she does a song and dance, or says yes, I believe it's time to pack your bags. Just do not ever get baptized. If you do and they df you-she is instructed to stop talking to you.

  Just to let you know, Jehovah is a head of a giant real estate corp that gets you to recruit and donate to the org.

  It has little to do with the salvation through Jesus Christ-it's false worship at its worst.

  Hope there is some love left after it's donated to the cult. Just be careful.

  Reagan did keep religion at arms length. I will give him credit for that, but he was just a figurehead for the advance of trickle down economics.

  He was better as a politician than an actor. The monkey was a better actor.

  WHY DO PEOPLE JOIN CULTS?

  i have become aware since being on jwd that many of us who converted to jw's as adults suffer from feelings of guilt and self-recrimination for being so badly deceived.

  i for one sometimes have the desire to punish myself for becoming a jw, being instrumental in my son being in their clutches, and the pain that is caused by it all.

  i have started to read "releasing the bonds" by steven hassan and i hope and pray that in time i will be more able to help my family leave the jw cult.

  Busted

  my incredibly sweet and intelligent girlfriend busted me on this site.

  i have talked to her about most of my issues with the wbts and told her about the site, but due to the very strong similarity between my conversations and my posts, she has cracked open the case like the little detective she is.

  i started telling her about a post i had put up tpday and how after quite a few months i have decided that religion is a piece of art and you cant argue over it, anyway half way through telling her she actually stopped me and said she had already read it along with all of my other posts.

  it will give us an indication on how many people are actually coming away from the borg.. i may not be replying all the time but will pop in every day of so.. lets keep this thread going and use it to welcome new ones.

  Never was one, but have been lectured by one for about 4 years. Started to get interested and did my own investigating (as everyone should) and found scandal after scandal. Last September, I finished off our discussion with "I know what you think of non witnesses and its disgusting and creepy" . "Our discussions are over" and returned all literature a day later. I was polite , but firm in what I discovered. He got really angry, but remained composed.

  Clearly it was the right thing to do.

  If the governing body decided on some new light-like dealing with the pedophile issue properly, eliminate the shunning, the arrogance, the games in general, and be a humble org, they could thrive instead of having to beg for more sheep. As it is, they are rotting in their own feces, and hopefully will wither and fade like many here are forced to do. Bill.

  those big dumpsters behind restaurants in the summer with bees and flies and birds looking for that tasty morsel of who knows what. Blech!

  We also have a fish rendering plant about 3 miles north--- I mean DAMN!!!!!!! Turns fish into fertilizer.

  raising kids without a religion - thoughts, advice?

  ok, thinking about taking the leap and starting a family.

  i've held back for years because of this subject.

  almost entire family are jw's, but my husband and i haven't been for many years and have no desire to raise children as one, or any other organized religion.

  In a recent elevator ride at an electronics dealer show, I let one rip and it was a goodie. Thinking that it would fade by the time I reached the lobby I figured I was in the clear. Seemed ok to me, but as the wife reminds me-who crawled up there and died.

  Well the 2 suits that entered the elevator as I left were in for a big surprise. Maple syrup flavoured baked beans usually are a killer.

  Does your pet do something funny?

  my cat monty is a scavenger.

  every night he brings an odd assortment of items to bed - this picture shows a little sock, two little mittens, a catnip sack, and two cords.

  it also shows little lavender sneaking up on him to steal the black cord, which she loves.

  Our new not so little hairy cat is getting fixed in the morning. We have hidden all the food and covered all the fishtanks and wifey will drop her off in the morning.

  The good news is that the cyote howling will hopefully come to an end. Silly girl has been in heat all last week. Hope she doesn't hate us too much tomorrow night!
