  Didn't mean to steal the thread, but I cannot fathom just how childish this disfellowshipping is. The fact that some do not do it means there is some who can actually think for themselves and are still decent beings. For the rest of them, it's pretty sad. This is the kind of s%$t that children do in daycare. But even the children do forgive and forget.

  I can understand as I come to learn about the teachings of Jesus why the Witnesses shun Jesus himself. The whole idea of Christianity is lost without Jesus. They have done exactly that- they are completely lost .

  Can you count a bible study with a 2 year old?

  according to my friend, an elder said he could count 4 hours a month and a bible study if he talked about jehovah to his 2 year old son.. this would go some way to getting in his 10 hours a month as the elder said to my friend "the co won't look at anyone whose hours are less than 10.".

  So who taught whom to shun? And did anyone here shun someone and why did you do it? Who told you to do this garbage? Mr. Flipper-did someone try to teach you to do this? I am trying to get to the bottom of this.

  My JW assoc. swears up and down that they do not practice this. Maybe they call it something else (word games), but if it is not taught, then why practice is. Clearly it is in violation of Jesus' word.

  Hello family...got a question and need your opinion...

  i've been dating a guy for 6 months now and things have been great except...before me he had a lot of female friends...they we're never sexual (so he says) but very touchy feely.

  i've met them all and he has the tendency to still be touchy feely with two of them.. i'm not comfortable with it because he now has a girlfriend.

  should i be worried?

  i started to put this in the great thread here on weirdos in your hall which i have so enjoyed, but there was a bit more story to it.

  there a pitiful little hunchback young man of about 25 that was soooooo introverted it was really sad.

  so he calls my house to speak to my elder dad, and i answer the phone.....unfortunately, at 15, i sounded a lot like my dad, and as soon as i said "hello" he blurts out...."brother oompa, i just wanted you to know i have gotten rid of all my pornography, and am going to really try to work in harmony with my prayers to stop masturbating.

  Update on last nights dinner.

  thanks to everyone for thre good advice i got for last night.. however omg, the husband is more of an apostate than i am!!!!!!

  it didn't take long for the conversation to get round to religion brought up by themselves and they really let flow.

  how unhappy they were with a lot of the teachings, how it was a manmade org, and they were only in it because they wanted to serve jehovah and jesus, and he sounded like one of us talking when he listed the research he had done on the dates, generation, paedophiles, gb, boe and everything else we question.

  I can only hope that his words were genuine. If this is the case, you should be able to count on them as real friends in the future.
