it snow last night from about midnight on.i was at work driving my cab.i usually don't drive in snowy weather but i didn't know it was going to snow last night.i was driving about 40 miles an hour on a plowed but not salted innerstate driving a customer to the airport.i hit an icy patch on the road and spun clear accrost the innerstate doing a complete loop.i hit the wall on the back passenger side.i messed up the bumper and tail light.the passenger was fine and not hurt at all.i hurt my back on impact.i strained some back muscles.. the passenger took it very well concerding he had a flight to leave the country he had to get on.problem was the trunk/boot of the car was smashed in on one side and i couldn't open the trunk to get his luggage out.the dispatcher called the towing company to come out to pry open the trunk/boot but they said they would be an hour.he couldn't wait that long so i took him to the cab company garage.i had a pry bar in my car.i was unable to pry the trunk/boot open myself.another driver was called to come get the guy and he was able to get the trunk/boot open.so he finally got his luggage out so he could go to the airport.. i had to fill out paper work for 2 hours.. lucky for me no other cars were involved and my passenger wasn't hurt.my lease is being held till i go downtown and speak to the big boss.so i can't work for the rest of the weekend.. my landlady is not going to be happy at all.i'm trying to catch back up from being behind on my rent.i went and got another job to help the situation but things keep getting in the way..

The most important part is no one was seriously hurt. That would make life pretty crappy. It looks like a bumper and a tail light with minor bodywork will put things right. Bumpers fall of really easy on newer cars. No driving record is perfect. Hope you are not having to deal with a deductible. That would suck.

Surely the WT wouldn't LIE about motel/hotel accommodations?!?

i was eating lunch with 3/4 of my active jw family earlier today and they were bemoaning the idea that they were going to have to leave the central oklahoma area very early tomorrow morning to find a room so they could attend an assembly on the otherside of the state.

they had tried calling the 'approved' hotels and motels in the town where the assembly is being held and they were all booked.

so that left them looking at the rest of the approved list and having to travel as much as 50 miles away to get a room.

An approved hotel is one that has the Gideon bible removed with tongs so it does not infect a Witness, and has all the porn phone numbers discreetly removed by white-out or torn out of the phone books.

Temptation, you know.

WILD ANIMALS

There are no "wild" animals in Malta except for snakes sometimes found in the countryside and which are not poisonous. Rabbits are quite common, especially for the Maltese dish speciality!

Maybe not sidewinders, but some non venemous perhaps.

The Holy Spirit-"God's Active Force"?!

another central difference in the beliefs of jws and most christians.

the wt teaches that the holy spirit is "god's active force" and certainly not a person or part of the trinity (which they say doesn't exist).

as the holy spirit is fundamental to understanding godly things (including the whole of the bible) then we should really have an understanding about god's spirit if we want to understand the bible.

Moshe is right. Whatever will happen will be a natural occurence-an event that we certainly will have little or no control of. So why worry about it.

It's that fear equals control crap again. What kind of life would it be if all you had was fear. Utter nonsense.

JWs-Birthday advise please!

a friend of mine's daughter has a friend at school who is a jw.

she cannot invite the frined to her birthday celebration at home as that would offend.

however, they are going swimming to the local pool.

I found an outdoor pool in the winter that was wonderful. La Quinta in south San Fran. Hot and steamy. No rain but really cold once you got out. Brrrrrrrrr.
