Did the WT Discourage Platonic Friendships Between Men & Women ?
by flipper inmy wife and i have discussed this before , and it has been an education for me getting out of the jehovah's witnesses over 4 years ago to see the difference in how witnesses and non-witnesses view this subject .
my wife before we met had some guy friends who she had non sexual friendships with and she was amazed when we first started dating when i told her how strict the witnesses were on men and women hanging out together alone just as friends , and that when i was a witness i never did that - at the risk of being falsely dragged before a committee if i was found in public alone with a witness woman !
my wife was amazed at the lack of trust that the elders had in each one of us as rank and file members !

That reminds me of a story when I was an elder.
I used to check on a sister in our cong. who was 85 years old and I would stop by from time to time to see how she was. Another elder found out about that and counseled me about going over there by myself.
I laughed and told him that there were no worries nothing would happen between the two of us.

by nomoreguilt inin detroit yesterday, the story broke that the mayor, kwame kilratick, the hip-hop king himself, was under investigation for his alleged purgery in a wrongful discharge lawsuit.
it seems that he fired 2 police officers because of their diligence in investigating his after ours activities at the mayoral mansion.
in his sworn testimony last year, he swore under oath that he did not have any sort of romantic or intimate affair with his chief of staff.

by loosie indoes anyone have or can anyone tell me where i can get a copy of the wt article that was studied recently regarding oral sex?.
i asked a friend who is still in and who i know practices it what she thought about the commands coming from brooklyn reagrding oral sex.
so now i need to read the article.. and please don't tell me to go to the hall to get a copy.

New Bethel layoffs confirmed - we get our very own "special" pioneers!

Another method of witness time-wasting
by ldrnomo inyesterday as i was getting ready to go out i noticed from my bedroom window two women dressed in witness garb heading toward my house i didn't recognize them so when i answered the door they asked me if i was spanish speaking i said no and they then asked me if i knew of anyone the the neighborhood that was and i said no they thanked me and went off to the next door (doing the pioneer shuffle) to ask the same question.
so this must have taken up a whole morning.
my wife and i thought they could have spent their time so much more affectivly sitting in a coffee shop and saying olaaaa to each customer that came in and when one answered back they could have spewed their bs on them in spanish..
