there are a few bible verses i'm going to discuss that probably don't bother anyone but me.
in fact, most people, including ex-dubs think they are wonderful verses.
i think they are really, really creepy verses.
Thanks a lot Flipper, I was just starting to forget about her.

some time back when i was an elder and expressed my concerns about the blood doctrine to another elder (in confidence) the news got back to the whole body of elders and the co who i will just call (bro.
smith) .
after speaking to me for some time and determining that i did not believe in the wt blood doctrine.

After speaking to me for some time and determining that I did not believe in the WT blood doctrine. I was removed and told by the CO, "You are a very spiritually ill man, and you need to gain back your faith." It was a strange thing to hear this from a much younger man with less years as an elder then me. It became even more strange when I thought to myself, I don't feel sick at all.
And I feel fine. (do do do do do do do do) (do do do do do do do do)
Should I have taken his advice? Which really was, start believing the way the society does or your dead. Am I dead?

i missed this point the first time i read ray franz's book " crisis of conscience " 3 years ago.
but it leaped off the page at me the second time around reading it this time.
on page 28 in discussing how secretive the gb meetings are and only rarely will an outsider be let in to gb meetings to give a report- then were sent away out of the room so the gb could continue meeting in secret.. franz in discussing financial issues states on pg.
I'm sure the GB are privy to the basic financial standing of the organization
Yes the three basic's:
Are we losing money? (meaning, Oh s**t we're fu**ed. We gotta start squezzing more money outta our benevolent brothers and sisters. Hey maybe we can do a series of WT mags on the joy of giving. They may even come up with new light on what would be an appropriate amount to donate perhaps suggesting 1/10 as a good scriptural standard. They might also include articles showing, (with true life examples), The many REWARDS one can recieve by giving all they can. I recall giving a talk about cheerful giving. THAT REMINDS ME OF A STORY
That talk outline was one of the ones I had. I gave the talk at another congregation and afterword the PO of the congregation told me he didn't think the example I used was an appropriate one. Look below for the example I used.
Are we breaking even? (meaning, "oh well, we're eating good living good, I guess we just can't buy any extras")
Are we making money? (meaning "Maybel, have the girls pack our bags, we're going to be doing some world traveling)
Example:
I thought all the children that were featured in magazine articles who gave their lives were the ultimate givers. They gave their lives after all. So I highlighted one of them, a young girl who needed blood transfusions to live, she died and gave the ultimate gift HER LIFE....

three years ago, my wife's jw sister of 55 became seriously mentally ill. hallucinations, hearing voices, acute paranoia, physically acting almost like a child.
her and her husband, both have a masters in education, while he also serves as an elder.. why the background?
because its their belief, even with their education, the demons are causing her problems and we, my wife and i, were the ones bringing the demons into her life.. for three years, she goes undiagnosed, while he refuses to get her medical help.
I recall an experience I had with this kind of superstition.
I went to a man and woman's (brother & sister's) house to bring them a new "used" washer and I noticed that there were scriptures printed in LARGE BOLD letters all over the kitchen and utility room cabinets. When I asked her why she had these different scriptures posted all around the house she confessed that she was concerned about wicked spirits because her husband played video games onlline and she felt he could possibly be inviting the demons into her house. I guess she hoped the demons would not like the printed decor and although they can move things with their powers, they still can't peel tape and letters off of cabinets.

even if you don't belive in god?
its somthing that has become a swear phrase rather than an actual prayer.
so was wondering.... is this somthing you say?.
Wouldn't it be great to use any expression you wanted to and it just wouldn't matter. Like nobody would care because when it comes right down to basics, words are only a means of communicating and WTF does it matter wether we say MF, OMG, OMFG, FU, OS, AHole, GD, JC, Csucker etc.
What if nobody cared? OMG!

I think the GB is about as much in control of the WTBTS as the Pope is of the Catholic Church.
It's always the money that controls any large institution and the WTBTS is not immune to this phenomena.
When the GB finds out it's losing it's revenue stream I'm sure they will take steps to try and reverse that loss by changing it's interpretation of the Bible.
The next move may be some kind of new understanding about tithing so that additional funds can be raised.

beloved, i call upon you, as strangers and sojourners, to keep from the fleshly desires, that war against the soul,.
1) didn't god give us fleshly desires?.
2) isn't it the fleshly things that give us pleasure?.

2) Isn't it the fleshly things that give us pleasure?
3) What fleshly desires is Pete talking about?
Perhaps alcohol, (can hurt our bodies)
or maybe food, (can make us fat and unhealthy)
What about being in nature, (could get attacked by an animal or bitten by a snake or spider)
or what about sex (I'm not sure how that can hurt us if we take appropriate precautions) Pete might have been thinking about this because at the time they didn't make said precautions.
Obviously drugs (which can include prescription and over the counter as well as tobacco and betel nut (whatever the hell that is)
Can you think of any others that can harm our soul (which in WT interpretation is our HUMAN life)

the dec. 2009 awake asks the question, what kind of star led the "wise men" to jesus?
it concludes that the "star was from an evil source, most likely satan the devil" ( pg 11).
i see the logic , yes....... since herod wanted to kill jesus, a great personage of pure evil must be behind the 'star'.
If Satan had enough power to make some kind of star thingee, then why didn't he just hire a private dick to tail him, or he could have hired an assassin to put a spear through his scull.

we were taught you are just unconscience in a grave "hell".
no burning fires or wonderful heaven where all our dreams come true.
i never feel like i am going to heaven.
It's as simple as dirt. We just become somthing else.
