  many of you will know that my beloved claire is a physiotherapist (physical therapist, usa).. the other day she came home and asked "everything o.k?".

  i replied: "no!".

  her: "what's the matter?".

  I think I am an Atheist (current JW)

  i am writing this group to discuss a topic that as you can imagine i really cannot discuss with too many people, at least as of now.

  i am a married male jw, married to a another jw, and she's content with being a witness, and in fact, i don't want to change that if she's happy.. for a very brief history, i was baptized at 19, and have been a jw for 10 years.

  fact is, i 'believed' in everything in as much as a lot of it 'made sense' and i was wrapped up in the whole thing.

  Rob. I'm right there with you my brother. Going thru pretty much the same thing. For me the motivating factor is the kids. I don't want my kids brainwashed. A father would give his life for his kids. So it seems a small sacrifice for me to give up my friends who would shun me for having a change of opinion.

  And I'm sure your non JW family will welcome you back with open arms, happy that you got out of the cult. They'll understand. Talk to one of them and get their support thru this transition. But be careful with the wife. For her sake it might be best to take it slow.

  looking back, being a jw meant constantly analyzing and categorizing others.

  on field service, persons were either "sheeplike" or "goatlike".

  in the congregation it went even further.

  Never did the judging thing. I saw how ugly it was in other people since I was a kid. One reason I never really fit in. I couldn't elevate myself above others. I did go along with the DFing though.

  of course she put lots of guilt on him again about not being a witness !

  i'm going to have to surgery soon.

  a hysterectomy.

  anyway, i asked my mom to drive me to the doctor because i started working 3rds this week and i didn't really want to drive in the big city traffic.lol.knoxville equals big city to me.

  The line is that a DAY could be any length of time. Like an era. (hence why we're in the last days)

  Before Adam and Eve were created I'm picturing God and Michael each sitting on a mountain kicked back and drinking massive beers and cheering on the dinosaurs they created to rip each other apart.

  Michael: Yo G, Did you see that? My T-Rex just ripped the throat out of your lame ass Brachiosaurus!

  God: Next round is mine dog!

  Michael: This is getting lame, let's whack these things and make some people.

  We have 2 who claim to be annointed in our small congregation. I know - what are the odds? We're truly blessed.

  One of our smarter elders referrs to one of these psychos at least as "one of the disappointed". He's cool.
