  Finally received our "shepherding call" today

  it was inevitable.

  after dodging the bullet for a few weeks, the elders finally made their way to our house today.

  the reason i think this to be so, is because he asked me what he should write down for my report.

  I quietly drifted away and it took the elders 10 years to called on me. They asked me if I had any questions and I said "yes" and gave them 10 questions. They never did get back to me and after 9 more years I gave them a call and asked if they had any answers for me. They said no.
  
  Think maybe they were glad to get rid of me?
  
  I ran an ad in the local paper after I had been apart from the group for 21 years and advertised a recorded message telephone number for people having questions about Jehovah's Witnesses. Then I left the recorded message tape turned on to take messages from callers. The universal message I got from callers representing themselves as Witnesses was this: "We never liked you when you were a Witness. We are glad you are gone. Jehovah will kill you."
  
  If any of you walkaways ever wonder if you want to go back, try running an ad in the paper with a PO box address or a phone number to call. Give it 6 months and then decide if that advertised love is there to go back to.
  
  And if you think Jehovah's Witnesses cheerfully will answer your questions about them, you are wrong if your Witness contacts are like mine. Instead of having your questions answered, you will be marked and shunned.

  What's The Worst Pressure You Endured Because You Were A JW?

  was it internal or external?

  i know of some that pioneered because they felt they had to.

  we know of many that felt awful because they were ridiculed because they were witness children and had to get baptized and face school pressure, all the while hating it.

  Don't You Think That Many Bethelites Know This Isn't The Truth.....?

  when you know that so many things are untrue,whether it be doctrines, policies or history, and these bethelites still hang on, you've got to wonder why.

  is it fear?

  is it the fact they have no real skills?

  Min, Anyone able to read at the third grade level knows the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation and it's private label religion, Jehovah's Witnesses, do not have access to accurate information or truth.
  
  Most of the efforts of the Publishing Corporation and it's agents, the traveling sales managers called Circuit Servants aka, Overseers, and the unpaid local agents called elders, are directed at support and growth in spite of overwhelming evidence of un-thuth . . . . error in every level of the organization.
  
  The sin of "questioning" is nothing more than the acknowledging that the error exists. Apostasy is speaking of the error.
  
  Every Witness functions with awareness of the error just under the surface. The Bethel workers are aware of the error plus they have first hand evidence of the secular nature of the Publishing Corporation and the dishonesty of word and deed. They are to the Society what the SS was to Hitler.
  
  Ask yourself . . . . Are they part of the problem? or part of the solution?

  Forget "truth". What about accurate? Has the information been accurate? Has the literature been accurate? Have the speakers at meetings and assemblies been accurate?
  
  The information has been inaccurate but the message is truth. Gimme a break!

  are you happy or miserable, or somewhere in between?

  take a minute and see which statement reflects your life:

  1. i am estatically happy; life couldn't be better; 2. i am really happy with no more than a few problems every now and then; 3. i am reasonably happy with my fair share of problems; 4. i am rarely happy and wonder what new curves life will throw me this year; 5. i am basically unhappy as nothing ever seems to go right; 5. i am usually unhappy and am beginning to suspect that satan has shown a real interest in me; 6. life sucks and i think i know how job felt; 7. i hope armageddon comes today.

  Happiness is a peak. It is derived from the word "happen". It can not be a constant state. More important is comfortable. Problems are a normal part of life and that fact is not related to comfort or happiness.
  
  I am comfortable with no problems I can not handle and I have many happy moments and much enjoyment of life. There in very little in my life that I have the power to change that I would want to change. My life is very acceptable.
  
  I have no unanswered answerable questions and I have no fear of gods or ghosts and I certainly have no fear of impending doom. Death will certainly come someday. I hope that day finds me in a warm comfortable bed in as little pain as possible.

  Masonic Symbols On The Cover Of The Draw Close To Jehovah Book

  i don't know if anybody has noticed yet, but today, i folded in the cover of the "draw close to jehovah" book and i noticed the bible turns into a pyramid, the clouds turn into a masonic "s" on top of that pyramid and "jehovah" becomes "jah".. freaky....

  We had Circuit Assemblies in National Guard Armories a LOT, and those rented buildings, we were told, were to be viewed the same as a Kingdom Hall. This was during a time when Witness people were being shunned for supporting the military and Witness boys were serving hard time in prison for refusing to enter those same buildings.
  
  Anyone looking for inconsistencies in the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation practices has a very easy time finding it.
  
  Do you think the military benefited in any way by renting their buildings to the Jehovah's Witnesses?

  Should I let my kids visit my JW parents?

  my parents are still active jw.

  last year they told me they had to limit their association with me.

  I gave Witness relatives access to two of my sons and both were taught by the relatives that I am bad association and they were counseled to limit contact with me until they could dispense with my financial assistance. As soon as my sons could, they moved out and they have shunned me since.
  
  My two younger sons, the Witnesses did not have access to, are my friends today, and they are not involved with the Watch Tower Printing Corporation at all.
  
  I would not let a Witness who ostracized me or anyone important to me, within 100 miles of anyone I cared about. No way would I let anyone who shunned and snubbed me have access to my children.

  however, while reading through the wts book study information for the week of march 3/2003, i came across a historical claim regarding the wts and its announcing of 1914 as the year of christs' presence in kingly power.

  answer (according to the information given in paragraph 14): jehovah has become king since christ's kingly presence began in 1914. the cry that god (via christ) had become king in 1914 has been announced to mankind by the watch tower society since 1919.

  *** the watchtower, march 1, 1923, p. 67 ***.

  Hi artful, All this is just a numerologist's calculation complete with explanations, re-writes and excuses. None of it has any value except to the application of mythology to numerology, the reductions of a sprit channeler's vacant claims and invisible results, an impossible reach supported by dogmatic claims and denials and threats to any who question. These are the elements of a high control group and they are quickly dismissed by most healthy, rational people.
  
  Claims made by the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation that they predicted a tangible event fulfilled in an intangible way is laughable and it amazes me there are any followers left in that group at all.

  Why Not Just Let It Go?

  i am fairly new to this board, but have been lurking for awhile before i decided to become a registered member.

  i have read many posts old and new and can't help but wonder why many of you just don't let it go?

  some of you have expressed bitterness and disgust over what the wts has done to you.
