i guess it's about time i write my story.
i've put this off for a long time... primarily becuase, while i thought my story was bad, i've read so many worse and heart-rending stories here.
i think, though, there is some therapeutic value in 'letting it all out' with others who know what 'it' was like.
Hugs and love to you.
I'm so sorry that you lived that hell.
Hope you find peace and happiness.

Yes I do. Why? My parents.
i didn't!.
i didn't even know i was supposed to.. does that mean my baptism is invalid and i am not a jw?...
if only.. -ootb.
I did not. I was baptized at 15, but I really didn't understand what 'dedicate yourself to Jehovah' meant.

the dress code that the society imposes on the women has been a thorn in my side ( manner of speaking).
theses old men dictate how a women should dress and i do mean "a dress".
i can remember when i lived in connecticut and the temp would be in single digits and when it came time for field service you must put on that dress.
I took a tour in a famous museum. It was a JW's bible tour. When the reservation was made, the 'sister' told us that we must wear clothes as we were attending the kingdom hall. What the h...? I didn't obey the stupid rule, but they complained to my husband about the dress code and me ignoring it.

i am very new to the site and i'm sure there is a learning curve, so please bear with me.
i have looked around a little and find the site very interesting and encouraging so far.
it is heartwarming to meet other people with questions or experiences who can relate them without needing to hide behind blatant negativity or automatic judgemental attitudes.
Welcome! It's nice to have you here.

i was a little girl when "get christy love" was on tv; i remember it vaguely.
i also remember teresa graves from "laugh-in.
" this is a website that details her tragic death in 2002. lots of interesting information.. http://www.findadeath.com/deceased/g/theresagraves/teresa.htm.
Oh, what a sad new. My mom and I used to watch Get Christy Love translate into Spanish. I knew she was a JW and always wanted to know about her life. Didn't know she died. So sad.

when i was jw i never saw an annointed person.... i thought that to be annointed you had to be american....i remember i asked someone at km hall were do the annointed drink the wine and eat the bread ?
they siad it happens in a back room in private.... is this true?
i was only young maybe it was just a throw off answer...... i always felt that holding the wine and bread publicly for a few seconds and then passing it on was a direct public denial of yahushua's instruction.........
I have family members who participate from the emblems. In the Memorial they take a little piece of the bread and a sip of the wine. I always feel weird.
