are there any real life support groups for people like us, or is this as good as it gets?
i look forward to meeting you all.

please, please remember i am asking a question, not stating a fact.. .
there appears to be many advantages to fading out of the 'truth' as opposed to a full blown "i don't believe it and i'm out of here regardless of consequences'' policy.. reading others postings and experiences here and my own local experiences i can truly see why many do so.
i remember during the later stages of my still attending meetings talking to a couple who had stopped going to meetings a few years before.
We found that the wtbs deceived us so how is fading form it deceiptful. We just need to mindful of family still in, out of love and kindness and hoping as a bonus they follow too!

he was on the net and came acrossed a saying that we thought fit the dubs and is very profound, what do you think??.
"when consensus is reached thinking stops.
so stop knodding your head!".
Gopher I agree thats why we are here

i hate where i am at in life.
the subject is mainly for faders i guess, but even some hardcore da's probably just cant get things out of their system.
i want a fresh start, but feel i could not do it around old friends, family, and esp.
Hi oompa,
I am in a similar postion to you I faded over a period of 1-3 years, I thiink I had one or two shepherding visits though nothing to serious, they left me alone.
I have 3 children - 11 boy does not go - 14 gourgeous daughter, does sadly go - boy 23 goes infrequently just graduated with a 1st Class degree; proud dad. Our oldest has the most difficult time vis a vie wtbs, I went alot until he was about 13 then I faded gradually which worked for me but left him a little in limbo.
I agree it is harder when children are involved, my wife does not know I post, the wtbs anti internet thing can be helpful! I just love them all as much as poss and hope that it works

ps can anyone tell me how to put a union jack by ''name'?
i have been df'd for just over 10 years and really haven't thought much about the religion since, except for the fear dying in armageddon.
one of my family members has been bugging me the last year or so to come back and that is what started my research and why i found this sight.
of course, after doing about 15 minutes of research, i realized how crazy i was raised and how nobody that is a witness today has any idea of where this religion came from.
I left about 5 years ago but have family still in. They are as always into thought control i.e. anti education full stop and anti internet,

why are we not all getting together as a group and get back at the borg for what they have done to us?
"there is strength in numbers" and definitely enough of us.
we have all suffered in similar ways, some more than others.
Hi Linda,
I agree with you, we should be able to in theory. we have foregone good jobs education and pensions. I am not famililiar with the the US legal system, being from the UK, but I do understand that you have a thing called class action, whereby people who have suffered a similar fete from the same organisation can join together in an action. We here in UK do not really have that.
I honestly beleive that what frightens the wtbs is that someone will take them to cour,t as in the case of child abuse, see it through to the end, with no gagging order and have punitive damages awarded against them thus setting a precedent, as happened with the catholic church.
Completele unrelated do you know how I can put up a copy of the union jack by my name, not for reasons of nationalism but to so that we know roughly what time zones we are in

well, i finally put up the site.
the articles are nothing new - bits from wikipedia etc.
but i hope it will persuade even one 'interested' one to avoid the jw's - and even get an existing member to think.
Hi i liked your site particularly liked your advice on leaving the org. I worked it out and just faded far easier. Met a former sister who disaassociated herself, she had a lot of grief, as most of family and friends were in the org, she beiing brought up as a JW
latest gossip round these here parts is that the wife of the presiding overseer has been 'publically reproved'.
nothing has filtered through about what the 'crime' was yet.. they are a young couple and he appears to me to be very conscientious in doing his best for the brothers.
i feel sorry for them as i have seen the pressure on them to juggle the demands of the cong with his wife who i think may suffer from depression.. thanks.
This is as all have said, sad. The men in the congregation usually work hard in poorly paid jobs, are very tired, then attend meeting 2 nights a week and weekends, and this before any congregational responsibilities!. Looking after the home children... falls to the wife, who gets little or no recognition for it. It is a wonder that this does not happen more often. been there myself, my still as fervent as ever still goes.
i'm fascinated by the idea that an exact group of words can mean different things to different people.
consider the following quote .
in order to avoid misunderstandings, jehovah's witnesses try to be careful about how they express themselves.
Hi Clam
In my expereience paradoxically whenever you try to reason with them they immediately begin to try and quote what the wtbs says! Or as my wife would say, we will have to wait on Jehovah, i.e. suspend reasoning because they fell threatened and retreat into thier comfort zone.
