  As an attendendant i occasionally had cause to meet df people, I would always be polite to them, however I would not add to their difficulty by talking to much, they appreciated that I talked to them. A year ago I met a da sister on a Tuesday evening, in the supermarket, I began talking to her she looked amazed. I reminded her it was Tuesday and where I was not, ie meeting, We had a long chat I hoped it helped.. Now I talk to anyone, just like I always did pre wtbs

  If there are any lurkers here I might be dfed if they know me just for making these admissions! I am not worried. Would not be here if I was. I think shunning is awful, immoral and unchristian.

  How do you feel about funerals?....would you want one?

  i find funerals and wakes morbid and horribley depressing for all involved.

  i just recently attented a celebration of someone's life, after their death.

  it was wonderful.

  I do not want people to remember me but think of my children. So music - Menuit pur le nom de Hayden by Ravel - for my daughter an evocation of life. Daffodils, older son, born in spring, and an alto sax younger son - he has just stared playing. Sorted! And cremation I like to be warm!!! And to top it all to go out with the Firebird suite by Stravinsky the back for a drink!!

  someone i love asked me that the other day.. i said: "i'm a good person, and i love my family".

  i also said: "regardless of religion, i strive to follow the 'golden rule'.".

  i don't think this is what the person wanted to hear.. so, now that you no longer "serve jehovah", what are your friuts?.

  Good ones - Tolerance they are not. Humour if we can not laugh at ourselves and others not much point imho. Bad ones irascible (if have not had cat nap after work).

  I love Lychees nearly time they come over here

  I have gone back what I was pre borg and feel much more comfortable

  When Your Parent Died

  For me no, but life changed along with my outlook. I lost both parents within 10 months if each other, I lost my brother 4 years before that.

  My children do not fully understand when I hug them really tight. I go to their (my mum, dad and brother are in the same graveyard) grave about twice a year, just to spend time in my thoughts enjoy the memories and vow to enjoy life more.

  For me nothing within me died, I just want to enjoy life.

  Hi lady Lee,

  What you posted says it all mostlyI i do not think that what it can convey is the damage that is causied on an individual level. The terrible and sad thing is that they do not care and are indifferent. What really freaks me is why was i and the rest here seduced? I can understand for those born into it, but people like me who are not stupid to be taken in is really sad.

  I did though find very few genuinely charming people though; which is to be expected i suppose as the the true nature of people is subsumed to conform the new personality

  Three Sisters Came by the house yesterday

  i saw a car pull up in the driveway.

  i was at my computer trying to order some tickets from ticketmaster, having a hard time with some details.. then i saw one sister, two then three get out of the car......up to my door.. i had a towel on my head (just got done coloring my hair) new clothes pulled out in the living room for my grand daughter, she was laid out of the sofa watching hannah montana.........i looked like hell.

  they, of course, all dressed up.. it was around two, and i figure they had been out in service and was finishing up their time.

  HI PS,

  You say that if you are single it must be easier, this is not experience. My younger son, 11 non JW, and I never get invited to anything in the cong, my wife and JW daughter get invited to many things, It is as if me an my son no longer exist, For example last night, there was a dance for all in the cong, I taxied my daughter and friend there and back. We now exist as two families, separated by a belief system that puts 'the family first'/ My young son get is hurt by this situation, but likes us all being together. I think many people with believing spouses here have similar experiences

  the governing body should be hanging their heads in shame watching how the events unfolded in south africa at oprah winfrey's school.

  her fearless way in meeting the problems head on, not covering up, calling in expert help, investigating, apologizing, getting all adults away from the campass so the girls could talk openly about what happened.

  those girls came first.

  Hi Purps,

  I know you were not picking on my wife. she doesn't,(she never use the Internet) my point was to illustrate the level of control that the society has on people, and how dangerous it is for victims of abuse. I have said that the elder arrangement is like a black box; that we all know it exists, but have no little idea of what goes on inside, it is also totally unchallengeable no wonder people find it difficult to obtain justice. As you say would Jesus behave like this- i don't think so?

  Hi Skeeter,

  This person from memory was on the radio a lot the previous week. If you follow other links in the new paper i found that some councils will not allow JW's to adopt children; makes sense.
