what i want to know is "how can such a sophisticated process of indoctrination exist, without experts in phsychological manipulation : men who know exactly what they are doing.
".
I agree with the above and would like to add to it the following observations about high mind control organisation.
Any group which is misogynist, homophobic, racist or anti education, is about control in one form or another; and it is usually a mixture of these, if not all four. They are usually averse to the arts and culture too.

this article apparently talks of a court decision recognising the damage that the jw policy of disfellowshipping causes.
i would appreciate a translation.
with thanks to so past a dub from jwr for finding it.. .
Hi Mickey, if the European Court of Human Rights does decide on this issue, it is my understanding that this will be become binding on all countries within the E.U. Even if it is not called upon to decide, it will likely have implications for the rest of the EU, unless struck down by a higher Court.
It is precisely an issue like this that leaves the WTS open to litigation, because it goes much wider than religious issues per se

I am not an expert on European Law, but i have studied it, and this could quite easily have implications for the rest of Europe, as this could become part of the canon of European Law; the higher the Court deciding this the more likely that this will become so. Even the decisions of lower Courts can, and are cited as examples of persuasive evidence.
The wts is now in hard place with regards to this decision, if they appeal it they need to go to a higher Court, if they do not there is an implied and tacit acceptaance of the decision of this Court

today at the meeting we were told by the co, that we got a gift three months ago!
the gift we got is the one more free evening weekly, because of the new meeting arrangement.
this gift was given to us by jehovah through faithfull an discreet slave.
So why did he not make the gift sooner? And why if is a gift are there conditions attached?

Congratulations on he birth of your baby.
I totally agree with all your last comments, it must feel quite liberating

there are those, such as the christian witnesses of jehovah, who consider all transplants between humans as cannibalism; and is not the utilizing of the flesh of another human for one's own life cannibalistic?.
- awake!
06/08/1968 p. 21. would be appreciated...thanks.
Did you notice that in this article the wts still use a bibliography too?
Some of the arguments used here are not too well reasoned either.

in the recent past i have recalled many kindnesses shown me as a younger man.
i probably said "thank you" at the time of a person's single kind gesture or act [polite thank yous were expected of 50s children]; some older people have acted on my behalf, however, over a period of time in ways that shaped me in a favorable way.
i couldn't have been aware at the time that their nurturing or mentoring me would have such far-reaching results.. several years ago it occurred to me how instrumental an older person's generosity toward me as a child put me where i am today.
This is something that chimes in with my way of thinking coco and i do agree. When my parents were alive i was the grateful recipient of much kindness that is was totally unconditional, i in ways i can try to do the same.
I used to have dear old friend , who showed me the delights of French and Greek literature, he was a delightful but troubled man. He made an untrue allegation against me, i thought OK, and did not speak again to him. A few years later, his niece phoned me to inform me of his demise, he died in a home about a mile from me. I was so sad. RIP R
He gave taught me many things, and i should have on reflection been more generous.
Life is to short but to enjoy.

why is it that on jw discussion boards, anyone who brings up difficult issues or questions will soon be banned from the site, while sites like this one where debate and discussion are encouraged, we welcome believing jws with open arms?.
of course, most of us here know the answer to that!
but it is something to take note of, and to mention when you get a chance.. there was a recent post about a jw group on facebook.
The WTS is about control, when that is realised all becomes clear. As has been said if they have truth all debate would be welcomed, and they would be able to demonstrate the veracity of their beliefs.

"london -- a protester threw green custard in the face of british business minister peter mandelson on friday, in a stunt to highlight opposition to a new runway at london's heathrow airport.. .
the former eu trade commissioner was arriving for a london summit on carbon strategy when protester leila deen approached him and hurled a large cupful of custard straight in mandelson's face, from close range.. .
mandelson bent over, turned away and hurried inside, while the protester picked up papers she had dropped and calmly strode off.. .
This was on national radio and TV here, this woman does not have any credibility for me, she thinks that by being vile to someone that enhances her cause, well whatever cause is, it is diminished by her action. She ranted on about a lack of democracy, so how does she help?
She did attract publicity , unfortunately she made put Mendelson look good, not too clever imo.
