That was my point to my wife, ie she had her priorities a little mixed up. Her parents have never been JW's. They have other family members who I think could be more helpful, they make heplful noises when asked, then excuse themselves.
I new how important it was to them so I just did it but was upset with my wife for not helping despite my pleas. yet she could go on the service yesterday and today plus the meeting.

Hi madtiger et al. I should have made the point that i do not consider what I did sacred. My wife thought that going to the meeting was more important than helping her ageing parents to move in. The meeting to her was sacred service , my point to her helping was helping her mum & dad could also be a form of sacred service for her

if jws really cared about making disciples they would never use outdated ways to get their "lifesaving message" across.
knocking on doors, knowing that most people aren't at home, is simply a waste of time.
driving around from one part of town to the other side in order to stretch your time, while doing return visits is simply a way to not reach people as quickly as possible.
Hi minimus. the door to door work is about reaffirming the wtbs control an d belief system. I the days of the internet and other media there are far more efective ways of spreading beliefs.
I have also been guilty of most of the above tactics in counting time. I havealso like the rest of us seen elders doing thier thing with each other.

i was thinking about the blood issue with witnesses and realized that if i were in an accident where i would need a transfusion and were unconscious, my family and the congregation would keep me from having one, possibly resulting in my death.
the whole point of fading is not letting anyone know your intentions and just walking away, so i think some serious legal counter to the hospital liaison committee is needed.. what i'm thinking is having a notarized legal document drawn up along these lines:.
statement of medical wishes when incapacitated.

hi,i have just registered here because i need someone to talk to in a way that wont end me up before a jc.i have been reading a lot of stuff recently about the wts being false prophets and the like.i also hate the fact that there are so called "spiritual" men out there who abuse their positions to molest children.i have been a witness now for 20yrs but instead of feeling spiritually alive i feel totally and utterly confused.i do not know which way to turn.anyone out there who feels the same ?
