Some good points wanderlust. The more i discover about the lies and manipulation the watchtower has been involved with the more i feel angry at the way i allowed them so much control over me.And then other times though my mood swings and i worry whether im doin the right thing gettin out.I keep thinking that it seems quite a powerfull hold the watchtower has on peoples minds for it to be completely wrong, or is it just very good mind control?

Why do we have to talk about what happened to us?
by wanderlustguy ini just watched reign over me.
adam sandler has come a long way as an actor, and i thought he did very well portraying the feelings someone has who keeps the pain of emotional tragedy inside.
i'll never feel ok about all the damage caused by me when i was at my worst.. the movie also made me think about me and my relationships and us as a group of people affected by something so tragic in some cases.

More important question we should wonder is.Is god asking " whats george bush up2 2day"
" Is he planning another war"
" Does he have mini nukes"
" Is he still a member of that sick group- the skull and bones society"

New world transmutation
by jacethespace insearching the new world translation transmutation and examining it with the king james has opened my eyes to a few things not that i didnt notice and wonder about these before, i did i just ignored it and trusted the faithfull and discreet slave driver at the time.. in john 5:4 of the king james bible it says- for an angel went down at a certain season into the pool and troubled the water whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.. in john 5:4 of the n.w.t it says 4-- absolutley nothing?
they left it blank probably because this doesnt fit in with the usual traditional bullcrud beliefs.. john 20:25 says- consequently the other disciples would say to him " we have seen the lord" but he said to them unless i see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side i will certainly not believe [ although centuries later we expect you all to believe without sticking anything anywhere- made up bit .
main point there though is wasnt jesus crucified on a torture stake.. thats funny i thought jesus had one nail put through his wrists.not two nails.. does anyone have any more evidence of alterations in the new world translation?

The Two Bibles
by ProdigalSon in[we are;] for we are not peddlers of the word of god as many men are, but as out of sincerity, yes, as sent from god, under gods view, in company with christ, we are speaking.
2 corinthians 2:17, new world translation of the holy scriptures.
heres what was translated as peddlers: kapeleuo from kapelos (a huckster); to retail, that is, (by implication) to adulterate (figuratively): - corrupt.

jws and organ donors
by jacethespace injehovahs witnesses used to view organ donors/ transplants as cannabalism and as such these things were banned in the org some years ago.. some questions ive been wondering about - how serious did the org take this belief back then.. was it as big as blood transfusions today.. did people in the org die from refusing organ donors.
what is the history of this belief and why did they drop it in the end.. what scriptures did the org twist use to justify this stance..

Did you try and fit your own "style" into meeting dress?
by avishai inboy, i sure did.
forties suits with handpainted ties.
fifties/sixties sharkskin "rat pack" suits with the skinniest ties i could get away with, etc.,
-
jacethespace
Hell yeah heres my dress history of my meeting attendance:
Ist meeting- Pair of chinos and a short shirt [ like the sort you go clubbin in]
Bit later on - was pulled up over wearing chinos [ didnt realize jehovaa could whack you for wearing chinos] but i always wore multi coloured shirts no boring black and white suit crap.
Before i left i decided screw it i wore my clubbing shirts to every meeting with a tie of course some would look at me for this like i was the son of molech or something.
I always wore dr martins boots strangley no one spoke to me about this.

How many years before you left did you realise it was not the truth?
by jambon1 ini was only in for 10 years.
however, i never feel that i 100% believed it all, even at the point of baptism.. i think after the initial period of 'love' shown on the part of the brothers, i must have only been a baptised brother for about 4 years when i knew it was all wrong on so many different levels.. i remember a sister saying to me "once they have got you under the water, that's when you see the real way they treat you".
it all changed after baptism.
-
jacethespace
Well i was never very sure so i spent about 4 years studying and attending meetings and being an unbaptized publisher before getting baptized in 2005.The elder i studied with seemed to be getting more stressed as i took my time and kept dropping massive hints in the end like. The end is coming soon you cant sit on the fence over and over that crap was told me, theres no sitting on the fence. So i think i realized quite quickly it wasnt the truth.

I got shunned yesterday
by loosie inman i love the feeling of power i get when people run away w/o me doing anything but beiing me.. but now that i think about it.
it's not my power but the power that fear has over them.

Intresting you say that youre not dfd because i suddenly realised ive been shunned too kinda.I was walking down the street the other day and an elder was walking towards me i said to him " hello harry" and he looked at me he did nod his head to ackowledge me but turned away and didnt speak. This guy has been in for 50 years as well so i bet hes got some secrets to hide.
Why do they shun you even when youre not dfd or anything would they say its a matter of concience.
I knew an ignorant s.o.b in the cong that always seemed to never like me [ probably i think it was cause i always flirted with his daughter] anyway he often used to just blank me even when i spoke to him while i was there and every talk he give he used to say the same thing about how theres bad association even in the congregations we have to watch out for and he always did this while staring at me intently.
Who meeee.
