Are JW's allowed to go to Alcoholic's Anonomous?
by digderidoo ini went to an aa meeting tonight for the first time in a few weeks.
after about 6 weeks of attempting to control my drinking in a social way, i feel that it best to go the abstinence route as i wasn't really enjoying it.. anyway i got to thinking afterwards whether jw's are allowed to go to them?
i have heard how some elders disaprove of them because it's classed as a spriitual program.

i met more than a few co"s in my 38 years alot were great this guy was a jerk they had a hard time geeting people to have him for meals ect.
he even ordered a sister with a crying baby out of an assembly!!

Words, sentences used to discribe how close we are to Armageddon?
by karter inin my 38 years as a jw i thought i'd heard them all.
at an assembly the do took a long breath through his nose and said" you can smell armageddon" that was 12 years ago.
after the new information we have been getting it so close.

Did you have many bro's & sisters try to sell you stuff at the KH?
by karter inwe had the usual amway,natural cures ect one sister sold life insurance and would not take no for an answer.
as far as amway goes one bro drove everyone mad had to just about threaten him before he went away.
one family seemed to be into every get rich quick (millions by monday) scheme they gave a talk about it at the service metting however they were not put off that easyley.

We had the usual Amway,natural cures ect one sister sold life insurance and would not take NO for an answer. by karter inwe hade one if you served him a meal with onions he would not eat it and said to one sister"don't you know i can't eat this!
" no she did'nt.
the latest co around here if you have them for a meal you get a list what they will not eat.

You have to remember if your marrage splits it will always be the non JW's fault in the eyes of the JW's ive seen this happen more than a few times no matter what the jw partener does it's the non JW's fault.

Did you find worldly people as bad as the JW's made them out to be??
by karter inas a jw we were always told worldly people were bad always out for what they could get out of you.
as for me iv'e made some good friends not anything as bad as the jw's said they woul'd be.

Did you have the bookstudy at your house?
by karter inwe did for many years it was great becouse we had small children.
however you are expected to have a supper now and then after having food droped then ground into the carpet a few times i called it quites on the suppers although i'd invite some for beers after.
one bookstdy conducter announced there was going to be a supper next bookstudy so i announced no there wasen't he spoke to me after something about unwritten rules i said '' the phraseas call it oral trditions"
