I looked at the online book, but couldn't find the partakers figure. What section is it in?

I remember as a JW kid in the 70s desperately wanting to take a martial arts class, but of course this was not allowed. I couldn't even join the Boy Scouts, and even playing chess was suspect. So glad I got out of this cult while my own kids were still young.

When I was a JW I certainly believed in what they taught us: Good spirits (angels) and bad spirits (demons). Now, I don't believe in any of that.

THE QUOTE THE WBATS DENIES MAKING OF 1975!!!
by ADJUSTMENTS inthe wtbats like to state "we never stated when the end will come" when they blatantly have:.
1969 "if you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things.
because all the evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years.

I was born-in and six years old when this article came out. I was told that I would never finish high school in this system. I fully believed it. However, I secretly hoped it wasn't true because it was in 1975 that I discovered, well, a certain pleasurable solo activity that pubescent children discover, and so I was convinced I wasn't worthy to be spared at Armageddon.
Anyway, these quotes are no problem for the WBTS. Just blame everything on the R&F and change history...

True Stories from the Tower - Part 1 "From Anointed to Pedophile to Bethelite"
by BluePill2 inbefore i dive into the actual write-up of this experience, let me put some things straight.. i have thought long and hard if i should write more about my experiences during the 10+ years at different branches.
during these years i worked from financial department, service department, home office and different it assignments.
as you can imagine one sees and hears and reads a lot of stuff going through different stations in different countries.

Amazing. Thank you for sharing this BluePill2; I can see how difficult bringing up those memories are. While we're all anxious to read more, we will wait until you're ready. Take your time and take care of yourself.

Do all Mormons go from door to door?
by jam inis it the young ones only that go from door to door?.
-
Steve_C
I see Mormon missionaries all the time here in Taiwan, mostly pairs of young men on their bikes, but I've seen women a few times, too.
Funny story: A couple of months ago a couple of foreign Mormon elders, who must have been all of 20 years old, stopped and greeted me. Instead of introducing themselves with their English names—like John Smith & David Jones—or even with the Chinese names printed on their badges—like Lin Jian-Guo & Gao Jia-Li—they used literal English translations of their Chinese names.
It went something like this:
"Hello. My name is Forest Establish Nation, and this is my friend Tall Auspicious Plum."
That might work if you're Native-American, but for a couple of white guys in Taiwan it sounded completely ridiculous and I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing in their faces.
I do usually stop and chat a bit with them if I have the time, as I'm always impressed by their Chinese ability. In contrast, even after being out for 14 years, I still feel uncomfortable when I see JWs out in service and try to avoid them.

JW Apolgist rant here...and confession.
by Julia Orwell ini really don't like people disparaging active jws on this site by calling them stupid, idiots, morons and that, and making out like they're willing puppets to the gb or cruel at heart.
or describing them like they're puke or as having no desire to learn or listen.. to you, all these things may be true.
we all have opinions and are entitled to them.

Julia, you've expressed beautifully what I've felt for the past 14 years since leaving. Thank you.
