Why do you HATE to cook?
by GentlyFeral inme, i love cooking.
hearing someone say "i hate to cook" is like hearing "i hate being literate," or "i hate being able to walk.
" i just don't get it.. but there must be reasons - enlighten me, ok?.

Workman's Comp troubles: ALL CLEAR :D
by GentlyFeral inthanks to jgnat for finding me some resources and exjdub for getting me off my butt and into action.
anyway, i finally got hold of a lawyer who told me that i did not have to accept a "compromise and release" offer.
in fact, "they might even offer you more money," he said, "and then you'll have to make up your mind.".

Another WORKMAN'S COMP question - URGENT, but not scary
by GentlyFeral injgnat and everybody, thanks for your advice and help!i discovered that it's fairly common for california lawyers to take workman's comp cases on contingency.i've emailed several local lawyers, explaining my situation in some detail.
i intend to set up consultations asap.. however, that claims adjuster alerted someone who works with disability management in hr.
she (the hr lady) wants to set a time and date to discuss "the resolution of your claim" which "would allow you to control your medical treatment.

WORKMAN'S COMP IS TRYING TO END MY CLAIM
by GentlyFeral in...because of a mistake i made, near as i can make out.. i've been a medical marijuana patient for several years, and usually i have workman's comp send me a copy of the year's treatment/doctor visit records to take to "dr. green" so he can prove that i'm actually getting real treatment for a real sure-nuff ailment, per prop.
this year, i wasn't quite sure the records would arrive at my house in time, so i asked the claims adjuster to send them directly to "dr.
green".

Fluff: new food-geek toy!
by GentlyFeral inok, so i was a health-food nut in a former life, and i'm taking it up again.. i've been reading about the benefits of fermented foods of all kinds - on beyond yogurt to buttermilk, kefir, and now homemade pickles.. last week i went on ebay and bought a kimchi/pickle-maker.
and it actually works!
as soon as it arrived, i stuffed it with ten big fat cornichons, some salt, buttermilk whey, water, garlic and other seasonings.

Semi-disabled and want to find another job. What do I do?
by GentlyFeral inok, the place we live is driving us crazy, so i'd love to be able to work in my favorite town.. problem is -- i became semi-disabled on my present job, and i don't see how i can get hired anywhere else in the trade i'm in.
i talked to the hr department about job retraining and they said that wouldn't be an option until i was declared unable to work at my present job at all - which is not likely any time soon.. when i bring this up to workman's comp doctors, they .... well, they don't have anything useful to say.
they know medicine but that's about it.
